How to wash staple properly?

How to wash staple properlyStaple is a blended fabric containing cotton and viscose. It's typically used for lightweight summer clothing, especially for women. However, summer is when clothing is most susceptible to staining, so it's important to know how to wash staple properly to avoid distortion and damage.

Traditional care is preferred

Staple is a delicate fabric, so it is preferable to wash it by hand: this way, the risk of damaging the fiber or deforming the product will be minimized. All information regarding washing parameters is indicated on the manufacturer's label sewn on the inside of the item. For example, what washing cycle is optimal and what temperature is recommended for a given fabric type to prevent shrinkage and deformation. Not following these recommendations will not always lead to disaster, but if you want to extend the life of an item, it's best to heed them.

If you plan to wash several items made from staple fiber, be sure to sort them by color. Separate colored items from whites or light items from dark items, depending on the dominant tones. Even if a dark or colored item bleeds, it won't affect the other items. Next, follow these steps:the water should be 40 degrees

  • pour warm water into a large container, heated to no more than 30-40 degrees;
  • Add liquid detergent to the basin. It's preferable because it rinses out of the fabric fibers better. Hand washing will never rinse the item as thoroughly as washing it in a machine.
  • Place the laundry to be washed in a basin, completely immersing it in water, and leave for 5-10 minutes;
  • After 5-10 minutes, wash the garment using gentle, flowing movements. Do not rub the fabric or press too hard; be as gentle as possible.
  • Once the wash cycle is complete, it's time to begin rinsing. Replace the water in the basin with clean water at the same temperature as the fabric was previously washed.

Important! If you create a temperature difference during rinsing, your clothes will inevitably shrink or become misshapen.

Let's use an automatic machine

Machine washing is acceptable for staple fiber. Moreover, if the item isn't heavily soiled, it's best to machine wash it immediately. However, if you do get a stain on a staple fiber dress, it's best to soak it by hand first and then run it through the washing machine.Washing clothes in a washing machine

  • Select any of the available delicate programs. Set the spin speed to the lowest setting.
  • As with hand washing, the temperature should not exceed 40 degrees.
  • Add detergent to the dispenser. Again, it's best to use a gel-based one, as it dissolves and rinses better.
  • Turn off automatic drying if it is included in the program.

Delicate cycles are usually short-lived, so the washing time for staple fabric will not exceed 30-40 minutes.

Drying, ironing and storage

Excessive spinning is contraindicated for staple fiber items. While it's acceptable to use a washing machine on the lowest setting, it's best to avoid it entirely. You can remove moisture from the item by simply laying it flat on the bottom of the bathtub. Excess water will drain naturally into the drain.

It's recommended to dry staple fiber items naturally. The easiest way to do this is outdoors, hanging them on a balcony. To avoid deformation, place the item on a hanger and dry it that way, rather than hanging it directly on a clothesline. To preserve the quality and color of the fabric, do not expose it to direct sunlight or precipitation of any kind. If it is not possible to dry the item outside in this way, place it inside and create a flow of fresh air by opening all the windows, for example.

Important! Iron staple only with a low-heat iron, from the reverse side through a cotton cloth or cheesecloth. Do not use steam to prevent shrinkage.

Staple fiber clothing should be stored on a hanger in the closet. To provide double protection from dust and moisture, a special garment cover can also be placed over the garment. Before storing, the garment must be thoroughly washed and dried.
