Washing insoles in a washing machine

washing insoles in CMIt's important to regularly clean your shoes, including washing the insoles in the washing machine. You can do this by hand, but when you're ready to put away your off-season shoes, you might find yourself with a dozen pairs to wash. How do you properly wash insoles at home, and what products should you use?

Is it possible to use a machine gun?

Before putting your insoles in the washing machine, check the manufacturer's instructions on the tag of your sneakers or other footwear. Washing insoles at home is generally easy. First, inspect them for delamination or other damage. If the insoles are well-stitched, they should be fine.

Important! Use special detergents designed for delicate washing to avoid damaging the insoles.

Orthotic insoles are the most difficult to wash. It's crucial not to damage their integrity, as they consist of complex foot-correcting components. They should definitely not be placed in the washing machine, and even hand-washing should be done with extreme caution. This could damage the antibacterial treatment or the orthotic components.

Given the high cost of such insoles, it's best to strictly follow the manufacturer's recommendations. If they're not washable, don't bother; dry cleaning is recommended. Improper home washing will result in loss of functionality. The only exception is insoles removed from orthopedic sneakers. They're soft and durable enough to withstand machine washing.

Setting up the machine

Don't rely on the durability of the insoles; it's always better to choose a delicate wash cycle. This involves using low temperatures and a minimum spin speed. What other washing machine cycle options can I use?insoles

  • A large amount of water is used, thus preventing damage to the structure of the shoe insoles.
  • The temperature should not exceed 30 degrees Celsius. Washing programs with water temperatures up to 40 degrees Celsius are permitted, but not higher.
  • For insoles from sneakers and other shoes, choose only the fastest washing modes. The less time they are exposed to water, the lower the risk of deformation.
  • Delicate washing programs feature gentle and smooth drum rotation, preventing damage to the insoles.
  • The speed should be set to a minimum – no more than 400. You can even turn off this washing stage altogether.
  • If your washing machine has drying and ironing options, these should not be used either.

Each washing machine manufacturer offers different delicate cycle options. The "feather" symbol will help you find the right one; it denotes a gentle cycle. Any other cycle with a short wash time and a 30°C setting will work – you can find it by the basin symbol with that temperature. If you don't have any of these programs, use a quick wash with cold water and no spin.
