How to wash kitchen towels with vegetable oil?

How to wash kitchen towels with vegetable oilA quick wash of kitchen towels with vegetable oil works wonders – leaving dirty linens sparkling white and smelling delicious. And brilliant results don't require any special knowledge or secret techniques. Simply study the product's properties and follow the instructions. We suggest you don't hesitate to delve into the essence of "oil washing."

Washing technology

Oil can do more than just stain things. When used correctly and with the right ingredients, oil-based solutions can remove even the most stubborn and ingrained stains from fabric. The fact is that vegetable fat softens stains, pushes them out of the fibers and completely washes clothes. The main thing is that there is no need to do any additional boiling or risk the item – cleaning is done as carefully as possible, but effectively.

But to achieve brilliant results, you need to be prepared. Simply pouring liquid into a basin won't clean your clothes. It's important to know how to wash and in what order. So, here are a few rules to follow:

  • oil is added only to hot water;
  • When soaking, the container with water and oil should be wrapped in a warm cloth so that the liquid does not cool down;
  • Only dry laundry is dipped into the oil solution;
  • It is forbidden to use vinegar and soda at the same time;
  • After washing, the washed towels are soaked again in water at room temperature.

Vegetable oil is effective against stains only in hot water!

Before washing, towels should be soaked, especially if they have become heavily soiled. In addition to providing thorough cleansing, vegetable oil will help restore the original brightness and velvety feel of your linens thanks to its natural composition, which is much gentler than chemical bleach. The oil also restores color, turning reds red and whites yellow.heat the oil and pour it into a bowl of hot water

Additional ingredients enhance the cleansing effect of oil. New ingredients are selected depending on the severity and nature of the stain. For example, berry stains are treated with an oil solution with added hydrogen peroxide. Potassium permanganate is used against brilliant green and iodine, and baking soda helps eliminate mold and mildew. If your towels have an unpleasant odor, it's best to pre-treat the fabric with vinegar. Citric acid is essential for removing stubborn dirt.

The final ingredients, vinegar and lemon juice, will not only help remove stains but also clean the machine itself. It's no secret that these solutions are comparable to chemical bleaches, so they'll also clean the insides of the machine and eliminate unpleasant odors.

Removing tea and coffee stains

Sunflower oil can tackle tea and coffee stains without any assistance. Simply dip a dirty towel in hot oil-soaked water and let it soak thoroughly in the cleaning solution. Light stains are removed almost immediately.

A water-oil solution will easily remove tea and coffee stains from towels.

If coffee or tea stains are so old that sunflower oil alone won't remove them, you'll need additional ingredients. Natural bleaches, such as vinegar or citric acid, will work well in this case. Don't worry about the quality and color of the fabric—this combination product will gently displace foreign elements, eliminate unpleasant odors, and add brightness to your linens.oil removes tea and coffee stains

Composition with a whitening effect

For more serious stains, more effective solutions are needed. One of the strongest is a mixture of sunflower oil, detergent, and bleach. First, all the ingredients are dissolved in boiling water, then a kitchen towel is dipped in and left to soak, and then the laundry is washed again. The result will be excellent if all proportions are observed and the order of steps is followed. Temperature also plays a role – fabric will only bleach at 80-90 degrees.

After soaking in oil, it is recommended to wash the towels on a quick cycle in the washing machine.

The process of such whitening looks like this.

  1. Prepare the ingredients for the solution: 150 g of washing powder, 2 tbsp. of chemical bleach or soda, 7 liters of water brought to a boil and 2 tbsp. of vegetable oil.
  2. Pour the powder and cleaner into boiling water.
  3. Stir until smooth and pour in oil.
  4. We straighten out dry towels, shake them out and lower them into the solution.
  5. We leave everything for 3 hours.

Once the allotted time has passed, drain the solution, wring out the towel, and wash again using any method. It's best to run a cycle in the washing machine, selecting the "Quick Wash" setting.

Combine oil and vinegar

Sunflower oil and vinegar work well together. Using them together will remove stains of any type and severity without boiling, simmering, or other traditional methods. Simply find a pot or bowl of suitable size and gather all the necessary ingredients:a mixture of oil and vinegar

  • water removed from the stove – 15 l;
  • any bleach – 3 tbsp.;
  • regular washing powder or gel – 120 g/ml;
  • 70% vinegar – 3 tbsp;
  • vegetable oil – 3 tbsp;

When washing towels made of colored fabrics, it is strongly recommended not to use solutions containing hydroperite or ammonia.

The solution is easy to prepare. Mix bleach, vinegar, and detergent in boiling water, then add the oil. Stir thoroughly and add the towels. For best results, soak the towels overnight, then wash and rinse thoroughly in the morning.

Manganese oil and powder

A special solution based on oil and manganese restores the lost color of kitchen napkins. If he dyes white towels, he will add brightness to the colored ones and return them to their original shade. As for the ingredients, in addition to the aforementioned 3 tablespoons of sunflower seeds and a few drops of potassium permanganate, you will need 10 liters of hot water and a tablespoon of powder.

Next we proceed as follows:

  • Dissolve all ingredients one by one in boiling water (add the oil last);
  • add potassium permanganate by eye until the water turns light pink;
  • dip a towel into the solution;
  • We leave everything until the water has completely cooled.

Once the water has cooled, drain the solution and rinse the towel. To ensure the results, it's best to wash the fabric again, either by hand or on the "Quick Wash" cycle in your machine.

Making things snow-white

Washing with vegetable oil is also beneficial for white items. Sunflower oil can remove stains even when chemical bleach has proven ineffective. The key is to supplement the oil solution with the following ingredients:

  • laundry soap - a bar;
  • peroxide – 6 tablets;
  • ammonia – 10 drops.

Only refined, deodorized sunflower vegetable oil is used to wash towels.

First, dissolve the grated soap in boiled water, then stir in all the other ingredients. The oil is added last. Once the solution is prepared, place the stained cloth in it and let it soak for 5-6 hours. If there are stubborn stains, extend the soaking time by an additional 40-60 minutes. Finally, wash and rinse the cloth.Whitening mixture with oil

Bleaching with oil and mustard is also popular. For every 30 ml of "fat," take 1 tablespoon each of mustard mixture and vinegar. Mix everything in a bucket of water heated to 60-80 degrees Celsius and leave overnight with the lid closed. No need to rewash the laundry—a few rinses under running water are sufficient.

Soaking in oil is effective because it helps avoid boiling. It's no secret that prolonged boiling of towels and other textiles has a detrimental effect on the appearance, quality, and color of the fabric. The structure is damaged, the color is washed out, and dirt penetrates deep into the fibers and remains there forever. Ironing removes germs from the fabric and protects the fibers from dust and dirt.

Soaking in an oil solution cleans items safely. It's important to follow the instructions, sort towels before washing, and avoid staining white towels with colored ones. To prevent heavy stains, it's recommended to change towels regularly, avoid leaving them wet in the washing machine, iron frequently, and choose cotton and linen items.

Salt and laundry soap will help

A solution made from oil and salt is also effective in removing kitchen stains. Use 3 tablespoons of the first component and 5 tablespoons of the second component per five liters of water. If the stain on the towel is fresh or light, then an hour of soaking will be enough, otherwise it is better to leave it overnight. The bleaching procedure is completed with a final wash and rinse.

Oil does not protect items from staining during washing, so you need to buy special wipes or sort towels by shade.

A combination of laundry soap and concentrated oil will help remove yellowing from white fabrics. An added bonus is eliminating unpleasant odors. Heat the water to 60-80 degrees Celsius, crush the bar, create a lather, and add 2 tablespoons of oil. If stains are deeply ingrained, it's best to pre-treat the stained areas with soap. The minimum soaking time is 4 hours.

Sodium bicarbonate, ammonia and oil

You can restore your towels to their original cleanliness, shape, and color using baking soda and oil. The beauty of this recipe is that all the necessary ingredients are readily available in any kitchen. All you need to do is measure out the required amount and prepare the solution. Here's what you need:

  • 2 tbsp ammonia;
  • 5 tbsp of soda;
  • 3 tbsp sunflower;
  • at least 5 liters of boiling water.alternative composition for washing

The cleaning solution is prepared in the following sequence:

  • dissolve all ingredients in water one by one, adding oil last;
  • carefully lower a dry napkin into the liquid;
  • close the container with a lid and wrap it in a blanket or down jacket;
  • we expect 4-5 hours;
  • take it out and rinse 3-4 times.

When washing with oil, it's important to keep the solution hot for as long as possible. Baking soda acts as a natural bleach, so the solution works well on white fabrics too. If the towel is made of fragile fabric, it's best to cut the soaking time in half.
