Where are Bosch washing machines assembled?
Some people still believe that Bosch washing machines are manufactured in Germany, but this is simply not the case. Today's reality is that Bosch machines are assembled in Western Europe, Eastern Europe, the CIS, and Southeast Asia. Indeed, all of Eurasia uses Bosch washing machines, but the problem is that Bosch machines assembled in one country differ from similar models assembled in another. This needs to be addressed!
How did it all begin?
The Bosch brand name derives from Robert Bosch, the founding father of the electrical equipment company, who began his entrepreneurial activity in the last quarter of the 19th century. The development of his "brainchild," the electrical equipment company and the Bosch brand, was more than thorny.
Political upheavals and two world wars almost completely destroyed Robert's company, but like a phoenix, it always rose from the ashes, capturing the electronics markets of many countries and surprising people with its technological innovations. Thanks to the efforts of first the founder and then his family, the company continues to grow steadily, expanding into new markets.
Today, several thousand different products are produced under the Bosch brand in dozens of countries around the world at hundreds of factories. At the same time, the company remains true to its motto "quality over quantity." Bosch began producing washing machines relatively late. The first successful commercial washing machines bearing their logo went on sale in Germany in 1958.
Bosch's revival and development were ensured by its board's consistent boldness in implementing cutting-edge technologies into production. The company did what others feared, and with remarkable success.
In 1972, Bosch launched automatic washing machines en masse, creating a sensation among female consumers and boosting the company's reputation and revenue. The company entered the Russian market relatively recently, in 1997, but this hasn't stopped it from firmly establishing itself there and quietly and systematically expanding to this day.
Today, hundreds of automatic washing machine models with a wide variety of features are sold on the Russian market under the Bosch brand, but not all are manufactured in Russia. So where are the Bosch washing machines so beloved by Russian consumers assembled?
Countries of origin
Bosch's flagship automatic washing machine production facility is, of course, located in Germany. Germany is the first country where the company truly achieved widespread success. Today, Germany has the largest production facility of the technical concern BSH, which specializes in the production of automatic washing machines Bosch and Siemens, in the city of Neuen, which is located near Brandenburg. This plant produces the most technologically advanced models of Bosch washing machines of the WLX and WAS series.
Since the mid-1990s, the BSH Group (owner of the Bosch brand) has been pursuing a policy of optimizing its production facilities in Germany and establishing new ones in third countries with lower labor costs and more favorable business conditions. Only four factories in Germany produce washing machines. Germany is now becoming the group's research center.
Technology centers, laboratories, and pilot plants are opening in Berlin and other German cities, providing the group with new technologies that they then implement, including in their washing machines. However, as much as you might want to buy a Bosch washing machine made in Germany, doing so isn't always easy, as only 7% of all washing machines the group produces are manufactured there.
What makes Bosch washing machines so special? No matter how much Bosch representatives try to convince their customers that all their products are consistently high quality, no matter where they're manufactured, technicians know that appliances labeled "Made in Germany" are superior to those assembled in other European countries and the United States, not to mention washing machines made in China, Latin America, or Russia.
It's all about the highest quality of assembly and components. Boschs assembled in Germany last on average 5-7 years longer than their foreign counterparts, and these are average statistics. Germany produces hundreds of thousands of washing machines with the WAS, WLX, WAY, WIS, and WKD labels every year.
Please note! Surprisingly, the BSH Group does not have a manufacturing facility in Germany capable of producing the latest washer-dryers.
Where else are Bosch washing machines assembled? The majority of BSH Group factories are located in Europe. Not counting the 4 German manufacturers, there are 37 companies producing washing machines and their components located in Europe.
- In Poland, automatic washing machines with the markings WAA, WAB, WAE, WOR are produced.
- There is a factory in France that produces WOT washing machines under the Bosch brand.
- In Spain, washing machines are produced that are marked with three letters WAQ.
- Bosch machines are even manufactured in the partially European part of Turkey, where they are marked with WAA and WAB.
Besides Europe, such equipment is also manufactured in Russia. Bosch washing machines manufactured in Russia are labeled WLF, WLG, and WLX. All Russian Bosch washing machines are manufactured at two large factories: one in Engels and the other in Tolyatti.
The latest Bosch washer-dryers are manufactured in Southeast Asia, in China. Machines "made in this country" feature large load capacities, drying options, and a host of innovative features. They are labeled WVD and WVF. WLM and WLO washing machines are also manufactured in China.
Model range
Today, the Bosch brand produces approximately 500 models of modern automatic washing machines with completely different technical specifications. With such a diverse range, any consumer is sure to find a home assistant they love. What are the key advantages of all Bosch washing machine models?
- High quality components, compared to competitors, that function for a long time and rarely break down.
- High build quality, especially when it comes to Bosch washing machines from Europe.
- A large number of innovative developments improve washing quality and save time, energy, and water.
- The company's flexible pricing policy makes many Bosch washing machines extremely affordable. Even despite the significant exchange rate difference, European Bosch washing machines remain competitive in Russia.
- Bosch washing machines are easier to repair and easier to find spare parts for, if, of course, your machine needs repair at all.
Currently, many interesting models of "home assistants" are available for purchase in the CIS countries. To illustrate this, we decided to create a short review, which we hope will complement this publication as much as possible.
- BOSCH WLG 20060 OE. A simple, reliable, and affordable washing machine with a 5 kg load capacity. It doesn't have any special features, but it does have protection against leaks, excessive foaming, and imbalances. The washing machine is manufactured in Russia, so the price is more than reasonable – around $310.
- BOSCH WVH28442OE. This excellent washer-dryer offers a huge number of features and sixteen wash programs. Some examples include automatic weighing, half-load function, secondary rinse, easy ironing, and more. This machine can wash 7 kg of laundry in one go and dry 4 kg. This machine is manufactured in China.

Any Bosch washer-dryer is very expensive. For example, the model we've featured, made in China, costs around $1,500.
- The BOSCH WAW32540OE is a "pure German" machine, assembled in Germany. It's quite expensive, but boasts decent technical specifications. It has a 9 kg load capacity, a 1600 rpm spin speed, auto-weighing, a no-spin cycle, easy ironing, a pause function, and other features. Its 14 wash programs will care for virtually any item. It's available in Russia for $1,260.
- BOSCH WAW24440OE. A slightly cheaper model from Germany, which, however, has more modest specifications. It has a 9 kg load capacity and a 1200 rpm spin speed. It's less energy-efficient, but it costs $1,010. This is a significant reduction, especially when compared to the model above. Reviews You can read about these and many other Bosch washing machine models in a special publication.

So, where are Bosch washing machines assembled? It's no exaggeration to say everywhere. While there's not enough information about all the manufacturing locations, it's known that the BSH group, which owns the Bosch brand, has manufacturing facilities in Europe, North Africa, Russia, Central Asia, China, the United States, and even six Latin American countries. So, these washing machines are known and actively used all over the world!

Bosch WAT28460BY?
Germany.
Bosch WAT-24441ME Washing Machine
I'd like to share. Bosch WAQ Spain. Load capacity 7 kg. I've owned the machine for 4 years and 6 months. The bearing on the drum broke. I had to cut the housing with an angle grinder; it's not disassemblable, unlike other brands. Then I had to glue it all together with sealant and screw it together. It was a simple matter; fortunately, spare parts are readily available. Price: 850 rubles.
Bosch manufactures auto parts in Tolyatti (Samara). In Engels, Saratov Oblast, Bosch produces power tools. And washing machines and refrigerators are manufactured by the same company in the Leningrad Oblast, specifically in Peterhof, at 1a Karl Siemens Street. Siemens home appliances are also manufactured there. The author of the article is mistaken.
WTG8641XME. Where is this marking made?
