Which dishwasher tablets are best (reviews)

Reviews of dishwasher tabletsThe best-selling dishwasher detergents are tablets that combine powder, rinse aid, and salt. They're easy to use and effective, but which ones are the best? Some homeowners have found the best option for both price and cleaning performance. Here's what they have to say about the most common tablets.

Finish

When I bought my dishwasher, I immediately bought Finish All In One tablets. I'm 100% satisfied with the cleaning performance; there are no streaks or drips left. However, they're a bit pricey, so I always look for deals. One box lasts me two months; they're very convenient.

I first tried Finish All In One dishwasher tablets when I bought them on sale, almost half the price. I wasn't surprised that they did the job effectively. Since the tablets are rather expensive, I don’t use them for daily washing. A simple, inexpensive detergent does a decent job of cleaning mugs, plates, and cutlery, but I only use Finish for my pans, baking sheets, and pots, and it does a fantastic job. I also use it for my crystal and glass stemware. I also use Finish rinse aid, and I really like it.

We've been using Finish products since we bought our dishwasher. We only use the individual detergents: powder, salt, and rinse aid. We recently bought Finish Classic tablets, but haven't been thrilled with them. Although the cost per wash is slightly lower than using individual detergents, the tablets don't always dissolve completely. As a result, dishes remain dirty in some spots, forcing us to restart the dishwasher. The cleaning performance with the tablets is noticeably lower, and we can't compare them with tablets from other manufacturers, as we haven't tried them yet.

Please note! Finish brand products are manufactured in various countries: Russia, Germany, Poland, Hungary, France, and Ukraine. The quality of these products will likely vary.

I won't argue that dishwasher tablets are very convenient, but I didn't like the Calgonit Finish Quantum tablets. Maybe it depends on the size of your dishwasher and how dirty your dishes are. But mine These tablets don't clean tea cups. The obvious disadvantages that I can list are the following:

  1. The dishes don't shine well; apparently the rinse aid included in the dishwashing detergent isn't doing its job.
  2. With a short cycle, the product is difficult to rinse off, leaving a film on the dishes.
  3. The worst thing is that after using these Finish tablets, the dishwasher developed an unpleasant, musty smell. I'd never had this before in two years. Only switching to Somat tablets got rid of it, which was a real surprise.

Aside from ease of use, I didn't find any advantages, so I was dissatisfied with the pills. But everyone has their own experience, and mine was negative.

I bought Polish-made Finish Quantum tablets on sale and immediately decided to test them. The results were impressive. My glasses and glassware sparkle. There's no residue left on my pots, but I always wash them on the intensive cycle. And most importantly, I no longer have to wash tea stains on my mugs by hand. As for the tablets themselves, they are packaged in self-dissolving packaging; there is no need to open anything. There were no cases where part of the tablet did not dissolve, and therefore I am very happy with them.

Unearthly

I received Finish Quantum power gel tablets as a bonus when I bought my dishwasher. I was very pleased with them until the first wash. Upon opening the dishwasher door, a strong, unpleasant chemical smell emanated, making me want to rewash all the dishes. As for the wash quality, only the plates came out clean. Tea stains on the cups and burnt cereal in the pan remained, even after soaking in 70-degree water. There were streaks on the glass jars. And yet, they're clearly overpriced; I definitely won't be buying them myself. I don't know why other housewives like these tablets, but for some reason, many write positive reviews, which is odd to me.

Frau Schmidt

I've been using a dishwasher for a long time, so I've tried different detergents. One of them was the tablets from Frau Schmidt, a French company. There's nothing special about these tablets, and the advantage is that they're easy to use and don't require rinse aid. sprinkle saltThese tablets are reasonably priced. They clean dishes thoroughly, squeaky clean, so to speak. I don't know why, but I like the "Mermaid" tablets better, maybe because I'm used to them.

Frau Schmidt dishwasher tablets were the first I've used. The cleaning results were impressive. All the dishes were clean and sparkling, a real difference compared to hand washing. There was no smell from the dishes or the machine.Overall, I liked the product, and it's not as expensive as its competitors. However, it does contain phosphates, which isn't environmentally friendly, so I'd give it a 4 overall.

Fairy

fairy pillsOver the years of using my dishwasher, I've tried various detergents, including Finish and Fairy. I've bought both Fairy All in One and Fairy Platinum. In my opinion, they're not particularly different. The main thing is that you don't need to buy additional salt and rinse aid, so I'd say the price is quite justified. The cleaning performance is excellent, and I haven't had any issues. The tablets are very convenient to use as they are wrapped in a soluble shell.

Fairy tablets attracted me because they were only $0.10 each. After trying a bunch of different tablets, Finish was the best, but the cleaning results with Fairy were amazing. The pots were clean even on the quick wash cycle, and the plates and glasses were absolutely sparkling. There's a small downside: if moisture gets into the tablet box, they stick together. So, you need to handle them with dry hands. Fairy really cleans!

I usually use cheaper dishwasher tablets, but after seeing the unusual packaging, I bought the Fairy Platinum tablets. I found the tablet itself interesting—it's gel-like rather than solid. They also have a pleasant scent, though I'm not sure what it's for, since they're meant for washing dishes... It's a matter of taste. As for cleaning quality, I'd give them a 3 out of 5; there's no point in overpaying. After using up the package, I switched back to my cheaper ones, which clean better.

Amway pills

Amway pillsI got these Amway dishwasher tablets for free from my uncle, who's a member of this marketing sect. As the saying goes, "Free stuff is sweet," so I decided to give them a try. In short, there are no advantages, only disadvantages:

  • are expensive;
  • fat is not washed off;
  • dried food is not washed off;
  • Tea stains on mugs cannot be washed off.

I prefer the cheap tablets from Auchan, but I sometimes wash with these, after all, they are free.

After buying the dishwasher, I immediately tried using individual detergents, but I wasn't thrilled with the powder. After reading reviews online, I decided to try Somat tablets, but then a friend brought me a single dishwasher tablet. It was an Amway tablet, and I was about to buy some myself. It's a good thing I didn't. The quality of washing with these tablets is terrible, just disgusting.Don't believe the advertising; the tablet emits an odor. Furthermore, the dissolving wrapper partially doesn't dissolve. That's the "miracle" from Amway.

I've tried various dishwasher detergents. I'll say this about Amway. Yes, they don't contain phosphates, but that doesn't make them super high-quality. You absolutely have to use salt with these tablets, otherwise the cleaning results will be terrible. They're expensive, and overall, they have no merit.

Snowter

I've been using a dishwasher for four years now and have tried many different detergents. Good ones aren't cheap, but I finally bought Snowter 5-in-1 tablets. The results were disappointing. After washing, a white residue remains on the dishes, which is very visible on black dishes. To place the tablet in the machine compartment, you need to open it, as the packaging does not dissolve.Conclusion: a miser truly pays twice.

Snowter tablets have only one advantage: they're cheap. But their biggest drawback is that they don't clean dishes. The dishes are still dirty after washing, even the forks are coated with a film, not to mention the tea stains on the cups and dirty pots. The tablets dissolve poorly on short cycles. Complete dissolution is only possible on a 3-hour cycle. I also didn't notice the shine the manufacturer promises. Overall, these tablets are useless.

Tellmy

I mostly used dishwasher powder, but one day I decided to try Snowter tablets, especially since they're inexpensive. Overall, I'm happy with the results. My metal dishes are sparkling, and my glassware cleans well, though some products do even better. Overall, the cleaning performance is decent; you can use these tablets occasionally. In my opinion, they deserve a 4-star rating.

Eared Nanny tablets

Love Sh.

Eared Nanny tabletsI use products from the company "Ushasty Nyan" quite often. As for the dishwasher tablets, they don't contain any fragrances or dyes, which is a plus. The cleaning performance depends on how dirty the dishes are. Stains from old tea can only be washed off at high temperatures. The tablets also work well on the fast cycle for other dishes. I've noticed a residue on the dishes after washing a few times, but perhaps the tablets aren't the issue. Overall, I'd rate them good.

Natachalipatova

I was impressed with the "Eared Nanny" tablets. They're suitable for washing baby bottles and dishes. They leave no odor after use. I also like how economical and inexpensive they are.

leo77788

Instead of Finish detergent, I decided to try Ushasty Nyan tablets. I can say that Nyan is even better; it doesn't leave a soapy residue. The dishes are washed perfectly, and it doesn't matter what kind of dishwasher you have; it all depends on the detergent. Glassware is washed especially perfectly, leaving it sparkling and squeaky clean. An excellent product at an affordable price.

So, it's safe to say that until you try a product yourself and see its effectiveness, you won't know which is best. Some people prefer more expensive products, while others prefer cheaper pills. So experiment and find what you like.
