What is an ultrasonic washing machine?

ultrasonic washing machineAn ultrasonic washing machine is another attempt to apply high technology to everyday life. Its operation is based on completely different principles than those of conventional appliances. When first seeing one, consumers might not even realize it's a laundry machine. Many confuse Retona or Cinderella washing machines with shoe dryers. Let's discuss these laundry machines in detail and find out just how good they really are.

How does such a machine work and how to use it?

You can't make an ultrasonic washing machine yourself (although there are some skilled craftsmen); the easiest way is to buy one at your local home appliance store. There's no shortage of these devices; the market is simply flooded with them, and aggressive advertising touts the miraculous properties of ultrasonic machines on TV screens, interactive displays, and the radio.

What does such a machine look like and how does it work? An ultrasonic washing machine, like the Cinderella or Retona, consists of a power supply, a long cord, and a flat plastic case about the size of a child's palm. It doesn't have the bulky body, tub, or drum of a conventional automatic washing machine. Inside the plastic case is a small printed circuit board, the task of which is to generate an ultrasonic signal with a frequency of 22-30 kHz, which is supposed to destroy contaminants.

Using the ultrasonic machine Cinderella or Retona is quite easy.

  1. You need to put the laundry in a basin of hot water.
  2. Place the body of the Cinderella or Retona washing machine into the same basin.
  3. Connect the device to the socket and wait 1 hour, the laundry should be washed.

Please note! The advertisement claims that the device removes normal stains well even without detergent, but claims that detergent is only needed for heavy stains. Decide for yourself how much to trust this information.

ultrasonic washing machineThere are some nuances to using the Cinderella or Retona ultrasonic washing machine that homeowners have noticed after repeated washings. Let's take a look at these nuances.

  • The machine washes clothes much better if the basin of water in which the device will be located is covered with a lid.
  • Washing in a metal basin is more effective than in a plastic one.
  • The water temperature should be at least 500C, otherwise the washing will be ineffective.
  • Don't push the laundry into the basin too tightly; the less laundry, the better the result.
  • In all cases, use hand washing powder; without powder, the ultrasonic device does not wash well.

To ensure effective cleaning, soak the ultrasonic machine in water for at least 1.5 hours. Dirt won't come off in 1 hour, much less 30 minutes.

Pros and cons of this machine

The Cinderella or Retona ultrasonic machine, like any other device, has its advantages and disadvantages. Unlike advertising, we won't list the properties of such equipment invented by advertisers or manufacturers, but will instead highlight the real benefits, confirmed by various experts. So, here are the advantages of ultrasonic machines.ultrasonic washing machine

  1. Compactness. No one will dispute the fact that ultrasonic washing machines are 100% smaller than any other automatic washing machine, even the most compact. After all, an ultrasonic assistant fits in your pocket, and dimensions of washing machines The machines are far from being so modest.
  2. Low price. Ultrasonic washing machines like Cinderella or Retona can be purchased for between $17 and $25. It's difficult to even buy spare parts for an automatic washing machine for that price, let alone the machine itself.
  3. Low energy consumption. Experts, when comparing the energy consumption of ultrasonic machines, cite the following example: the energy consumed by an average automatic washing machine during one wash cycle is enough for approximately 300 full washes with an ultrasonic machine.
  4. Reliability. The design of the ultrasonic "assistant" Cinderella or Retona is very simple; there's simply nothing to break, unless you take a hammer to the power supply and housing. This type of equipment can serve for decades without any problems.

Having discussed the advantages, it's impossible not to mention the disadvantages of ultrasonic cleaning machines, and they are numerous and significant. Let's list the disadvantages of ultrasonic technology.

  • Wash quality. Wash quality is clearly not the strong point of the Cinderella or Retona ultrasonic washing machine. Even a cursory examination of expert and consumer reviews suggests similar conclusions. We'll confirm this later by presenting the results of our experiment.
  • Ultrasonic washing machines don't rinse or spin laundry. While some may argue about the quality of the wash, there are also undeniable drawbacks: rinsing and spinning laundry requires manual washing or transferring it to a centrifuge, which doesn't make the job any easier.
  • An ultrasonic washing machine like Cinderella or Retona requires human intervention. No matter how you look at it, you can't leave such a machine alone with your laundry, as to achieve satisfactory washing results, you need to turn the items over and rearrange them in the basin, which, again, requires manual labor.

After a cursory analysis of the pros and cons of the Cinderella and Retona ultrasonic machines, we conclude that the cons outweigh the pros. But let's not jump to conclusions without testing everything ourselves, so to speak. Let's experiment first, and then decide.

We are conducting an experiment

Without further ado, we decided to conduct our own experiment, borrowing a Cinderella ultrasonic machine with two emitters from one of our company's employees. As the advertising claims, two emitters mean "double efficiency." Well, let's put it to the test.

ultrasonic washing machineIn accordance with the above-mentioned nuances of using an ultrasonic machine, we prepared two metal basins with lids, filled them with hot water of the same temperature, and added 50 g of Myth powder for hand washing.

After that, we placed two absolutely identical handkerchiefs, equally stained with ketchup, earth and grass, into the basins and lowered the Cinderella ultrasonic machine into one of the basins, not forgetting to close the lids of both containers.

The scarves lay in the basins for 1.5 hours. During this time, the water in the basins cooled, but the machine continued to operate smoothly. We stirred the water in both basins every 10 minutes. After 1.5 hours, we turned off the machine, removed the lids from the basins, removed the scarves, rinsed them, and wrung them out by hand. Afterwards, we dried both scarves on a line and then laid them out on an ironing board under intense artificial light.

On both the first and second handkerchiefs, the grass and ketchup stains became much lighter, and the soil stains disappeared completely. We didn’t notice any difference between a scarf washed in a basin with an ultrasonic machine and in a basin without a machine, although we tried very hardThe conclusion is obvious.

Following the experiment, our company's specialists found the ultrasonic machine to be ineffective and its wash quality to be unsatisfactory.

Does the machine cause harm to health or clothing? Consumer reviews of its use

To ensure our research into ultrasonic machines and the resulting conclusions don't appear one-sided, let's look at consumer reviews of this equipment. Here are a few examples.

Andrey Alexandrovich

I have to wash my gym clothes often, and there's a shortage of washing machines in the dorm. I bought a Retona washing machine, followed the instructions, put the clothes in a basin of water, added detergent, turned it on, and, like a smart guy, waited for the results. In short, it didn't clean anything; the clothes stayed just as dirty. I don't know who would sell this machine to anyone on the cheap now.

Svetlana

I've loved the Cinderella washing machine since the first few days of using it. I started with washing bedding, and now I wash everything from my favorite jeans to baby clothes, and I'm quite happy with it. It's true that it doesn't wash well without detergent, but I suppose if the laundry isn't too dirty, it's perfectly fine.

Evgeniya

In short, this thing is rubbish. It doesn't clean anything. I followed the advice of a "kind" neighbor and bought this piece of junk. I tried washing different items of different fabrics, but it didn't work. I don't recommend anyone buy an ultrasonic washing machine.

Ivan

I bought an ultrasonic washing machine as a gift for my grandmother for March 8th. She still talks about it. It turns out the machine doesn't wash at all, and its magical properties are a complete lie. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

A few words should be said about the potential harm such a washing machine can cause to human health. It's common knowledge that ultrasonic devices can penetrate and affect any substance or material.

In some cases, ultrasound has a destructive effect on the material and there are concerns that it may negatively affect the body. There have been no serious studies in this area, so no definitive conclusions can be drawn.

We believe that the device's power is not sufficient to cause significant harm to the human body; however, it is not advisable to leave a working device near you for a long time, just in case.

You shouldn't make an ultrasonic washing machine yourself, and it seems you shouldn't buy one either. This device isn't worth the dollar spent on it. Therefore, we don't recommend buying one, and the vast majority of consumers agree with our opinion.

The machine doesn't remove greasy stains, but it does a great job of removing dirt from children's light-colored socks. After the ultrasonic washing machine, I don't wash them by hand—I throw them in the machine and rinse them. The socks are clean!

Is it possible to put both tablets in one container?
