Smart Washing Machine Review
Even ordinary washing machines were once considered technological marvels, making housewives' lives much easier. But science and technology are advancing, and smart washing machines are now being actively marketed. By syncing such a device with your smartphone, the machine can autonomously handle technical issues, contact a service center, and so on. This no longer sounds like science fiction; it's unlikely to impress today's discerning consumer.
How does such technology function?
A special control module equipped with communication sensors and software is installed inside this type of unit. The processor is controlled by a special operating system, which is completely different from the familiar Windows operating system. The user can view basic information about the washing process on a digital display, but that's not all. If the model is equipped with a Wi-Fi module, the system data can be transmitted to other access points, thereby accessing the open network. Thus, with a smartphone connected to the network, the user can control the unit remotely, entering commands such as:
- set and change washing parameters;
- shut off the water in case of an error code or malfunction;
- choose the water temperature;
- set a washing program;
- open the hatch door at the end of the process to prevent the laundry from getting stuck and rotting inside;
- turn off the power.
Important! A particularly interesting detail: now you don't need to measure out the powder by the gram each time before washing. You can add as much as the filling will hold for several washes in advance. The machine will automatically dispense the required amount before starting the process.
Pros and cons of such machines
Of course, the undeniable advantage of this type of equipment is its completely remote control. Now you don't have to worry about leaving the machine unattended at home while you go about your business. Even in the event of an emergency, you can shut off the water and power remotely. All you need to do is remember to turn on the Wi-Fi module before leaving.
But every coin has two sides, and for every advantage there's a significant disadvantage. Smart washing machines have two such disadvantages: their high cost compared to traditional models and their difficulty in operation and repair. Repair technicians often refuse to repair complex electronic modules, preferring to replace them entirely, which brings us back to the first disadvantage.
In this regard, good old, tried-and-true washing machines are much more forgiving. They're already adapted to various environmental conditions, such as high humidity or dryness, excessive dust, etc. The same can't be said for smart washing machines: their complex components are highly susceptible to adverse conditions.
Samsung WW90M64LOPA
This washing machine is visually very similar to a regular washing machine. Its drum capacity is 9 kg, and its dimensions are 60 x 60 x 85 cm (width, depth, and height). The body is made of plastic, and its efficiency and consumption ratings are top-notch, meaning it uses minimal resources while delivering high performance.
Now directly about special features. The specifications indicate that the SM can work in a smart home system by connecting to Wi-Fi module, which is the communication channel between the car and the owner. With intelligent control you can do the following:
- Install the program (there are 14 of them in total).
- Select speed or cancel spin.
- Set the washing temperature.
- Clean the drum.
- Receive a signal when the washing process is complete.
In addition, this model is equipped with systems for controlling the level of foam formation, as well as imbalance controlThe machine body is equipped with leak protection, and the electronic control display has a child safety system.
LG F2J6WS0W
An advanced, compact (85x60x45 cm), and quite affordable washing machine with a variety of remote control options. Energy efficiency class A+++, and water consumption is also minimal. The machine is equipped with surge protection.
Please note! The unit features a built-in Smart Diagnosis feature, which allows you to diagnose the machine's condition remotely, without having to visit a service center, significantly saving time and money.
What can the user control?
- Launching the program.
- Setting or canceling the spin cycle.
- Remote diagnostics of the car.

The user can also receive various messages from the machine about the details of the washing process. Another distinctive feature of the model is the ability to record your own washing programs with unique parameters. There are also 14 default modes available.
The unit's heating element is made of stainless steel, making it much stronger and more durable than, for example, ceramic elements. The tank itself is made of plastic, with a standard capacity of 6.5 kg.
Candy CS4 1051 D1
An even more budget-friendly option, but with a relatively low load capacity—5 kg maximum. The model itself is quite compact, as evidenced by its body depth of just 40 centimeters. Its efficiency and energy consumption ratings are slightly lower than those of its predecessors, using 45 liters of water per cycle with a relatively small load.
The machine doesn't have a touchscreen control panel; everything is controlled via buttons, which isn't always convenient. However, the remote control feature, which can be accessed via a gadget, makes up for this.
In addition to the remote interaction option, there are also the following features:
- foam level control;
- water level control;
- leak protection;
- imbalance control (distribution of laundry in the drum);
- accelerated wash program.
The lack of child protection combined with a push-button control panel is not very convenient for families with little rascals. But the machine is equipped with a remote stop function for washing, so it is easy to control the process.
Candy CST G270 L1
The key feature of this smart washing machine is its top-loading capacity, which is quite generous at 7 kg. However, it's worth noting that its energy efficiency, water consumption, and spin efficiency ratings aren't the highest, so keep that in mind. The body is made of plastic, and the heating element is stainless steel. There aren't many noteworthy features.
- Quick wash program.
- Imbalance and foam control functions.
- Leak protection option.
- 15 washing programs.
The noise level during operation (especially during spinning) is quite high – 75 dB, which is inconvenient for families with small children, since this is one of the highest possible values (there are machines with a noise level of 40-45 dB).
The control panel features push-button controls and NFC technology for remote interaction. There's no option to add custom wash programs; there are only 15 factory-set programs, which can also be set remotely.
