How to install a Candy dishwasher
Dishwasher prices have never been low, so not every Russian family can afford this indispensable assistant. This is especially true in the current market situation, where the price of almost anything isn't rising. The situation is further exacerbated by the need to pay a technician for installation. However, installing a Candy dishwasher isn't all that difficult, so you can do it yourself and save money. Just follow the instructions carefully to avoid damaging the dishwasher and voiding the warranty on your newly purchased appliance.
Where will the dishwasher be located?
Beginners often believe they can install a dishwasher in just five minutes, even skipping the preliminary preparation step. However, this approach can lead to a number of problems that can be avoided by taking the extra time to prepare the space for the appliance. People often believe that a special space is required only for built-in dishwashers, but this is a common mistake, as space planning is essential for any appliance.
First of all, it is worth understanding where the device will be located so as not to disturb anyone, and also to be close to all the necessary communications. It is very important that the distance to the sewer and water supply is no more than 3 meters.But this is the most extreme case, because the shorter the distance, the better. It is also necessary:
- that the dishwasher is installed on a level and solid base;
- there must also be a connection point to cold water and sewerage nearby;
- Finally, there must be a high-quality socket.
It is best to connect the dishwasher to a moisture-proof outlet to prevent water from accidentally getting into it.
We're used to the idea of level floors everywhere in our apartments, so we don't even think about it until we buy complex appliances. However, floors in a private home or apartment can rot, and their base can begin to sag. If a regular floor has unevenness or slight differences, there's nothing to worry about, and appliances can be installed on it.
Now you need to take care of the water drainage. Make sure the tee fitting fits properly between the faucet outlet and the cold water pipe. You also need to make sure the dishwasher hose can reach the faucet. Instructions for installing the faucet will be described later.
Now you need to make sure the dishwasher drain hose can reach the side outlet of the trap. To avoid having to extend the hose, measure the distance from the intended installation location to the trap. If your home has a trap without a drain outlet, or it's already occupied by a washing machine, you'll need to purchase a trap with a free outlet. In the worst case, you'll have to extend the dishwasher's drain hose into the sink or bathtub every time you wash dishes. However, it's best to avoid this and buy a trap with a drain outlet, otherwise you'll have to clean the sink and bathtub after every dishwashing.
Finally, there's the electrical part. The outlet must be not only safe but also reliable, capable of handling the dishwasher's rated load. It is advisable to connect the device through a voltage stabilizer to ensure maximum protection of the connection. With this device, no power surges are a problem, so in the event of a power outage, the machine's components will not be damaged.
The last step in preliminary preparation is relevant for built-in dishwashers. In this case, it's important to first carefully measure the machine's body, including all protruding parts. These measurements should be compared with the dimensions of the niche where the dishwasher will be installed.
Materials needed for work
To install a Candy dishwasher, we won't need many tools or supplies. The only tools you'll need are a screwdriver, pliers, an adjustable wrench, and a spirit level. As for supplies, things are a bit more complicated. What will we need?
- FUM tape.
- PVC insulating tape.
- Sealant.
- A siphon with a nipple to connect the drain hose.
- A 3/4 tee tap, preferably made of brass or bronze.
- Flow filter with mesh.
- A tee for a sewer pipe, necessary in a situation where a sewer outlet has not been installed beforehand.

The list is impressive, but it could be even longer if there are electrical issues in the home. In that case, you'll need to purchase additional electrical supplies. The list looks like this:
- three-core electric cable 2.5 made of copper;
- European-style socket with water protection;
- 16A residual current circuit breaker, which will protect the line;

- It is not necessary, but it is better to purchase a stabilizer.
Never connect high-tech equipment to an old outlet or extension cord, as this is very dangerous.
If we need to rewire the utility lines, we'll also need a hammer drill to make a chase, a screwdriver with an indicator, and wire cutters. However, using this set of tools is only possible if you have experience with electrical wiring. If you don't have this experience, it's best to call an electrician to handle all the hazardous work yourself.
We put the dishwasher back in place
Connecting a Candy dishwasher yourself shouldn't pose any problems. This is especially true if the installation site has been carefully prepared in advance and all the necessary tools have already been purchased. Just follow the instructions carefully, and everything is guaranteed to work.
- First, connect the drain hose and move the machine to the place where it will always stand.

- Remove the plug and connect the free end of the drain hose to the drain outlet. You can seal the connection with sealant for security, but this is not necessary.
- Next, turn off the cold water and disconnect the outlet to the mixer from the cold water pipe.

- Now we connect our tee tap to the filter.
It's best to purchase a flow-through filter with a mesh to trap large debris from the water supply, as it could end up in the machine.
- We screw on the tee tap and carefully insulate all connections with FUM tape.
- One end of the tee is for the pipe, and the other for the faucet outlet. The third end of the tee is where we connect the machine's inlet hose. The other end is attached to the appliance.

- Finally, all that's left is the electrical work and the finishing touches. We plug the power cord into the outlet, slide our Candy into place, and adjust the feet until it's perfectly level.
This concludes our work. If you have a built-in dishwasher, the eighth step is securing the front panel to the door. This isn't difficult, as the front panel is easily installed using special fasteners without any tools. Congratulations, your installation is complete!
