Often, information, including the model name, serial number, year of manufacture, and much more, can be found on the appliance body. This applies not only to LG washing machines but to any other washing machine. Just examine the body carefully, and you're sure to find a brightly colored sticker with all the specifications and descriptions.

Most often, in LG equipment, this sticker is located behind the hatch door, directly above the rubber seal - to find it, you only need to open the washing machine door and examine the space around the seal.

On the sticker you find, look for the line that begins with the word "Model." Most of the information on the device will be in Russian, but it may also be in English if the purchase was made abroad or imported from other countries. The serial number is a combination of English letters, Arabic numerals, and other symbols, such as "LG F2V5GS0WT" and "LG TW4V5RS2S."

Why is marking necessary and how to decipher it?

It's very convenient that each LG device has its own name, which allows you to learn the main features of this product. If you know the serial number, you can determine the power, load type, color, and much more based on the model name alone. First, let's look at the labeling of products manufactured before 2016.

• The first two letters are always LG, that is, the brand under which the SM is produced.
• The first letter after the space indicates the machine's loading type. It's usually F, meaning front-loading, but you might also see M or E.
• Then come two numbers representing the maximum RPM during spinning. The highest number is 18, representing 1800 RPM, followed by 16, 14, and so on.
• The next symbols will be two numbers indicating the washing machine's design. 48 is Prime III, 81 is Prime II Refresh, 89 is Mega Plus Refresh, 91 is Mega Win, 92 is Mega Pro Refresh, 95 is Big In, and 96 is Mega II Refresh.
• Next comes a single letter indicating the machine's depth. This could be L for a narrow machine with a depth of 44 centimeters and a capacity of 5 kilograms, M, which is the same depth but has a capacity of 5.5 kilograms, N for 6 kilograms, H for 7 kilograms, S is very narrow, just 36 centimeters deep and a 4 kilogram tank capacity, Q, which is a standard 7 kilogram tank, T is also standard, but with a capacity of 8 kilograms, F is a standard 9 kilogram tank, and B is a standard 12 kilogram tank.
• The letter "D" indicates a direct drive, which is mounted without a belt next to the drum. Most LG washing machines have this type of drive, so this letter is found on almost every model.
• The letter S is the steam generation function.
• Finally, the final letter H indicates whether the machine has a drying function. This symbol will not appear in the serial number if this function is not available.

Washing machines manufactured after 2016 have slightly modified serial numbers. Let's take a quick look at what's changed and what remains.

• The first two letters still indicate the brand of the equipment.
• Next comes the boot type again, which is most often indicated by the letter F.
• Next came the first change: the number of revolutions was now indicated by a single digit, as the company stopped producing washing machines with a speed of less than 1000 rpm. Because of this, the number 8 now indicates 1800 rpm, 6 1600, and so on.
• Then the control type is indicated, which is most often in the form of value J7, that is, a programmer with a display.
• Then the depth of the machine is returned, for which the symbols C are prepared, that is, the depth is 65 centimeters, T and V - 50-60 centimeters, and the narrowest H - only 40 centimeters.
• The S still stands for the steam generation option.
• The serial number ends with a letter and number indicating the design and color. "S" stands for the white case, "A" stands for silver with a floral pattern, "E" stands for red with a floral pattern, "1" stands for the silver door, "3" stands for the chrome door, "5" stands for the silver case, and "6" stands for the black panel.

Let's take a separate look at LG's European-made "home assistants." They're not much different from their Russian-made counterparts, but there are some subtle differences. In European devices the meaning is U2 signals a mechanical control system, and the letter U – about sensory.

Finally, let's examine the serial numbers of American LG washing machines, as they differ significantly from their Russian and European counterparts. The model names have changed as follows:

• The first letters "LG," which indicate the appliance manufacturer, are missing. Instead, the letter "W" indicates the type of appliance, meaning "Washing machine" in English.
• then comes either the letter M for horizontal loading of laundry, or T for vertical;
• the next four digits are the washing machine series;
• followed by the letter H, indicating the presence of a steam mode;

The information plate can also be used to determine the year of production of the SM. To do this, examine the serial number. It will list the year and month of production in sequential order.
