Bosch vertical washing machines of German assembly
The shelves of Russian home appliance stores are lined with Bosch washing machines. Not all of them are made in Germany, but they are all assembled under the supervision of German engineers. The vast majority of Bosch washing machines sold in our country today are front-loading, but there are also top-loading models. We decided to focus specifically on Bosch top-loading machines and review them. See what came out of it.
Features of these machines
Not everyone knows, but everyoneBosch washing machines Washing machines can be roughly divided into two groups: front-loading and top-loading. What's the difference between them? Top-loading (vertical) machines have a loading hatch located on the top of the machine. Front-loading machines have a hatch built into the front wall of the machine. Both types of washing machines have their pros and cons, but today we're more interested in the advantages of top-loading "home helpers."
- The laundry loading hatch in these machines is located at an optimal height. Elderly people don't have to bend over to load laundry into the drum.
- Controlling the car is also easy, because you don’t have to bend over to press buttons.
- These cars don't require elaborate child-proofing. The control panel is located high up, and most rascals simply won't be able to reach it.
- "Top-loading" machines are much more stable than Bosch front-loading machines; even when spinning at high speeds, they rarely "jump" or wobble.
- If the door seal on a front-loading washing machine is damaged, it will leak. Water will gush through the gap between the door cover and the machine body, spilling onto the floor and splashing everything around it.
Bosch top-loading washing machines will not have any problems washing even if the top cover is damaged, but it is better if no breakdowns occur.
Bosch WOR 16155
This German-made model boasts outdated technical specifications. Nevertheless, this top-loading washing machine remains popular among users. The machine's control module includes seven preset wash programs: Mixed, Delicates, Silk, Prewash, Wool, Stain Removal, and Intensive Wash. The Bosch WOR 16155 is quite noisy, reaching up to 73 dB during the spin cycle, but it's still quite stable.
The machine doesn't have a display, but it's easy to use, which is probably why it's so popular with retirees. It has an impressive array of features, including a secondary rinse, easy ironing, and a delayed start. Safety is also top-notch, with protection against water leaks, overflows, imbalances, and foaming. It also has a robust self-diagnostic system. The machine measures 90 cm high, 40 cm wide, and 65 cm deep, weighing 59 kg.
Bosch WOT 24255
This is a much more modern washing machine with a wider range of features. It has a 6.5 kg load capacity. It can spin at up to 1200 rpm, though it's quite noisy (76 dB). It features 10 programs to suit all occasions and laundry needs. It also offers a wide range of functions, including "Easy Iron" and "No Spin" options.
That's not all: the Bosch WOT 24255 features an informative display and an impressive indicator system, which can be difficult to navigate at first. The machine has reduced power consumption and a decent safety system. It even has overheating protection, which often prevents damage. The dimensions of the Bosch WOT 24255 are exactly the same as the Bosch WOR 16155.

Bosch WOT 24455
The 455 model is even more modern. It features a more informative digital display, a 6.5 kg drum, and a special spin program that does its job perfectly. Laundry exits with 53% residual moisture. It includes eight excellent washing programs: Silk, Wool, Shirts, Delicates, Hand Wash, Mixed Laundry, Sportswear, and Kids' Wear. A bonus program called "Super Quick Wash" completes the wash, rinse, and spin cycle in under 30 minutes.
This model features a load-in feature for adding laundry during the wash cycle. This is a convenient feature for users who constantly forget to add items to the wash cycle. In addition to the standard safety features, this "home assistant" has a child-safety feature, but it's not entirely clear why this is necessary, as it would be difficult for a child to reach the shiny control panel.
Bosch WOR 20155
Fans of budget top-loading washing machines will love the Bosch WOR 20155. While it lacks a display, which may deter some buyers, it's significantly cheaper and offers comparable performance to the models described above. It has a 6 kg drum capacity and spins at 1000 rpm. Seven programs and a comprehensive set of features make it quite competitive with the latest laundry models. It's even slightly quieter than the Bosch WOT 24455. Made in Germany and Slovenia.
Bosch WOT 20255
The WOT 20255 is a bit more expensive, but it looks more impressive. It features a simple display and a very decent selection of programs. The "Anti-Allergy Wash" and "Intensive Wash" programs are especially noteworthy. In the anti-allergy mode, the machine rinses the laundry several times, removing even the smallest traces of detergent – so allergy sufferers can rest easy. The model has a load capacity of 6.5 kg, the spin speed reaches 1000 rpm, and the spin speed is, of course, adjustable.
The "Home Assistant" has a good set of features. We won't list them all, but we'd highlight "Easy Ironing" and "24-Hour Delayed Start." The delayed start is useful for those who run the washing machine at night. The machine's safety is also excellent; in addition to the standard features, it has overheating protection and a door lock system. It's unclear why it needs a door lock, but it's there nonetheless. Overall, the model leaves a very favorable impression.
So, we've put together a short overview of Bosch top-loading washing machines. Naturally, many models weren't included in our review, simply because there are so many of them. If you need more information, you can find it on the official Bosch website. We bid you farewell and wish you good luck!
