How to turn on the spin cycle on an Indesit washing machine

How to turn on the spin cycle on an Indesit washing machineOf course, the main purpose of any modern washing machine is washing, but not always do owners need to clean their clothes. Sometimes, clothes only need to be spun, skipping the wash and rinse cycles. However, activating a separate spin cycle isn't always as easy as with regular cycles. Let's look at how to easily activate the spin cycle on a modern Indesit washing machine.

How is the spin activated?

With approximately 15 different Indesit washing machine lines currently available in stores, the spin mode can vary significantly across models. For example, in "home helpers" without a display and with three rotary knobs for adjusting the temperature, the drum speed, and the operating mode, a separate spin mode can be activated as follows:

  • Load dirty clothes into the machine drum and activate it with the power button;
  • Move the handle responsible for heating the water to the position with the snowflake icon to select a program without heating the liquid;
  • move the mode selection knob to the position with the spiral icon, which is responsible for activating the spin cycle;Indesit WISL103 panel
  • the last knob must be used to select the drum rotation speed during spinning, say, 600;
  • We start the work cycle using the “Start” button.

If there is no separate “Start/Stop” button on the machine, then the work will begin automatically after all the settings have been set.

This is how you can activate the spin mode on the Indesit WISL103, but there are many other ways to do it. For example, on the Indesit W104T, the function is even easier to activate.Indesit W104T panel

  • Move the mode selection knob to the position with the spiral icon to select spin;
  • Set the temperature control knob to the position with the snowflake symbol to avoid heating the water;
  • Now load the clothes into the drum and start the cycle.

The Indesit W104T washing machine does not allow you to control the drum speed during the spin cycle, so the procedure will always be carried out at maximum speed. This can have a negative impact on delicate items, which manufacturers do not recommend spinning at high speeds. If you have a modern Indesit Innex series household appliance, you can activate the spin mode by manually switching modes and using a separate button.Innex washing machine programs

  • Start the washing machine and load dirty clothes into it.
  • Using the programmer, select the spin mode indicated by the spiral icon with a downward arrow.
  • Using the "Spin" button with the spiral icon on the control panel, select the optimal drum speed in revolutions per minute.

If you select the button with the crossed-out spiral icon at this stage, the washing machine will only drain the water and stop working.

  • Press the cycle start button to start the spin cycle.

Operating your Indesit washing machine won't be difficult if you have the user manual or our instructions at hand.

There will be even fewer problems with using household appliances if you always have at hand the decoding of all the pictograms indicated on the CM panel. If you don't have official instructions at hand, you can save this page so you always have an example on hand.

All Indesit washing machine functions are divided into primary and secondary. The primary, or standard, functions are found on every washing machine.

  • The "Cotton" program, designed for cleaning cotton items, features a pre-soak in hot water heated to 90°C (194°F), a maximum load capacity, and a 171-minute wash cycle. This program is designed for washing kitchen towels, napkins, and more. There's also an intensive cotton cleaning program, which doesn't soak and lasts 155 minutes, and is best suited for heavily soiled white items such as tablecloths, towels, bed linens, and so on. Finally, there's a third cotton program designed for washing colored items at just 40°C (104°F) for 147 minutes.

The user can choose the desired water temperature themselves, if 40 degrees for washing colored clothes seems too low, and 90 degrees for towels seems too high.

  • The "Synthetics" cycle is suitable for washing clothes made of synthetic materials. There are two options: an intensive cycle with water heated to 60°C (140°F) and a 71-minute cycle, and a gentle cycle with water heated to 40°C (104°F) and a 71-minute cycle. This cycle typically allows for only half the drum capacity. So, if your "home helper" is designed for only 5 kilograms of laundry at a time, you can load it with only 2.5 kilograms, and so on.Innex's main programs
  • The "Wool" program was designed for gentle care of wool and cashmere garments. This program heats water to 40 degrees Celsius, washes in approximately 55 minutes, and can clean approximately 1.5 kilograms of laundry at a time, which is then gently spun at a minimum speed.
  • "Silk" is another gentle cycle suitable for washing curtains, viscose items, and underwear. The temperature is set to just 30 degrees Celsius, the cycle lasts 55 minutes, and the load capacity is up to 1.5 kilograms. The spin cycle is disabled.

Different washing machine models have different program names, so don't be surprised to see cotton wash programs labeled "Prewash," "Daily," "Intensive," or "Delicate." They often have different water temperatures, which is also worth paying attention to.

All that remains is to discuss the additional features that aren't available on every device. These special modes are often found on modern Indesit washing machines.

  • "Jeans" is a special function for washing denim items, using water temperatures no hotter than 40 degrees Celsius. This mode also features a half-load cycle and reduced spin speed.
  • Express 15" is a quick wash to refresh up to 1.5 kilograms of clothes in just 15 minutes at a temperature of 30 degrees.Synthetic programs on Indesit machines
  • "Sports Shoes" – this mode allows the washing machine to clean not only clothes but also shoes, as it's designed for suede and fabric sneakers. The water temperature is only 30 degrees Celsius, the cycle lasts 50 minutes, and it holds two pairs of shoes.
  • The "Sportswear" wash cycle cleans dirty sportswear in 78 minutes. It uses a half-load cycle and a washing temperature of just 30 degrees Celsius.

Sometimes Indesit washing machines have special modes for additional and delicate rinsing of clothes, separate spinning, and draining of used liquid without spinning.

  • "Eco Time" is ideal for situations where you need to wash items quickly while using minimal water. This function can be used with just one of the cotton cycles, as well as for cleaning synthetics.

These are far from all the programs that can be found in washing machines, but these are the basic modes that are widely used in modern household appliances.
