How to turn on a Bosch Maxx 5 washing machine

New Bosch appliance owners don't always immediately understand how to turn on their Bosch Maxx 5 washing machine. Loading laundry and detergent

The Bosch washing machine has a standard rectangular detergent drawer. To open it, pull the handle. A special stop prevents the drawer from sliding out completely. Once opened, you'll find three compartments.

• The first compartment (on the right) has the Roman numeral "I" printed on it. It is used for pre-washing and is therefore typically used infrequently.
• The second compartment, located in the middle, has a flower drawn on it. This section is intended for fabric softener, starch, or a special rinse aid.
• The third compartment is marked with the Roman numeral "II." This compartment is used more often than the others and contains everyday laundry detergent, Calgon for softening water and preventing limescale, and various stain removers.

Adding detergent to the first compartment is recommended only when a prewash is necessary, such as when washing heavily soiled cotton or blended laundry. Avoid adding too much detergent, fabric softener, or bleach, as this could damage both the clothes and the washing machine.

Excessive foam formation due to overdosing on detergents can damage the digital module.

Before starting the wash cycle, place your laundry in the drum. Don't forget to sort your laundry first. Some items are not machine washable; this information should be included on the garment label.

Don't wash all your laundry together: whites should be washed with whites, darks with darks, and coloreds with coloreds. When choosing a program, consider the type of fabric and the number of items you're loading. It's not recommended to start a wash cycle with a half-empty drum, but overloading it is also not recommended. To calculate the optimal amount of laundry, pay attention to the maximum load of the drum and load a little more than half of the specified value.

Let's start the process

Once you've connected the appliance and loaded your sorted laundry, don't rush to press the power button. Check to see if the tee valve is open and that no water is leaking into the machine's drum. After checking, follow these steps:

• turn on the machine by pressing the “on/off” button;
• Close the drum lid tightly;
• Add laundry detergent to the third compartment of the powder dispenser and close the drawer tightly;
• Carefully study the washing programs on the control panel and select the most suitable mode;
• find the "start" button and press it;
• After the wash cycle is complete, turn off the machine, open the drum door and hang up the laundry.

You can change the program during the wash cycle if necessary. To do this, press the "Start" button, turn the program selector to the desired setting, and then press "Start" again. The first program will be canceled, and the new one will start from the beginning.

If you made a mistake and selected a high-temperature wash for delicate fabrics, after canceling the high-temperature wash, instead of starting a new cycle, select the "rinse" cycle first. This will allow the laundry to cool and minimize any negative effects.

Any household appliance requires regular maintenance. A Bosch washing machine is no exception. To extend its lifespan, follow these recommendations.

• After washing, keep the drum door slightly open to allow air to enter, prevent unpleasant odors and prevent mold from forming.
• After each wash, wipe the door cuff, drum, and powder compartments with a dry cloth.
• Periodically (once every 4-5 washes) remove the debris filter and wash out the dirt accumulated there.
