Water in the tray of a Bosch washing machine

Water in the tray of a Bosch washing machineIf the Bosch display shows error code "F23," the control board has detected water entering the washing machine's tray. This warning can occur at any stage of the wash cycle and requires immediate diagnosis and repair. There's a high probability that a leak has occurred, which prevents further use of the machine. The problem must be identified and resolved.

Where does the water come from?

Water in the tray appears only due to a leak, which can be caused by several breakdowns at once. Washing machines from Bosch products are known for their reliable components and high-quality materials, but due to manufacturing defects, careless handling, and long-term use, water accidents are possible. However, in most cases the problems are local and easily fixed.

As a rule, leaks in Bosch cars are caused by:

  • a broken drain or inlet hose;
  • Incorrectly installed detergent drawer;
  • a faulty Aquastop sensor that randomly generates an error.

A leak and the “F23” error can be caused by a ruptured hose, an incorrectly installed dispenser, or a faulty Aquastop sensor.

If your washing machine has a display, the code "F23" will indicate a leak. Machines without a display will indicate a full tray via the indicator. The LEDs indicating spin speeds (600, 800, and 1000) and the "Rinse" light will flash simultaneously.error f23 appears

Let's determine where it flows

If you notice signs of a leak, immediately unplug the washing machine and turn off the water. Do not touch the machine until the power is off, as a wet machine can cause an electric shock if there's a problem with the electronics. It's best to avoid touching the power cord and instead use the electrical panel in your home.

Only after disconnecting the machine from the power supply can you begin checking the machine. First, we check to see if the detergent drawer is installed correctly. We remove the dispenser and reinsert it. Then we proceed to diagnosing the drainage system. The instructions are as follows:we will determine the location of the leak

  • make sure that the washing machine is disconnected from the water supply and sewerage system;
  • remove the tray and drain the water;
  • turn the machine gun on its side;
  • look inside the machine, find the pump and assess the reliability of the connections between the pump and the hoses;
  • correct any detected defects and replace damaged parts.

If water leaks onto the floor next to the machine rather than into the tray, the seal is broken outside the machine body – at the junction of the machine and the inlet hose.

Another common leak is the pipe connecting the inlet valve and the powder receptacle. To check for leaks, remove the top cover machine and assess the dryness of the hose.

If there are no problems with the powder receiver, pump, or pipes, the problem is likely a faulty Aquastop sensor. The float needs to be adjusted.

We restore the machine to working order

That's not all. Many Bosch models refuse to work even after the leak has been identified and corrected. The point is that to return the system to working mode, you need to reset the error code "F23". The instructions on what to do are as follows:

  • turn off interrupted mode;
  • disconnect the washing machine from the power supply (it is enough to remove the power cord from the socket);
  • wait 5-20 minutes;
  • Connect the Bosch to the power supply and press "Start".

If the "F23" error disappears from the display after the reset, the reset was successful. The Bosch will now operate as normal, but only if the cause of the leak is corrected. Otherwise, the problem will reoccur.
