Washing time in an LG washing machine on different programs

Washing time in an LG washing machine on different programsAfter purchasing and installing a new washing machine, users try to get as much information as possible about the functionality of their "home assistant." They're primarily interested in what programs are stored in the machine's memory, what temperature the water is heated to, how much the spin speed adjusts, and so on. Many also immediately try to find out how long each wash cycle lasts. Let's take a closer look at cycle times on LG washing machines.

What does cycle time depend on?

The washing time in an LG washing machine can be adjusted even when the same mode is selected. The cycle duration will vary depending on the program settings: water heating temperature, spin intensity, number of rinse cycles. However, the standard duration is still provided for in the instructions.

The final execution time of the program depends largely on the user's mode settings.

For example, the cycle will always last longer when the "Soak" function (+20 minutes) or the "Extra Rinse" option (+30 minutes) are enabled in the main mode, or when the water temperature or spin speed is increased. Therefore, we can only talk about the standard cycle duration if the program settings are not changed by the user.

Duration of LG SM modes

To get the most out of your washing machine, you need to study the characteristics of all the washing programs and find out what each additional function is for. You can get all the information regarding the washing machine's functional "insides" in the equipment instructions. Let's figure out how long the machine works in different modes.

  • "Cotton." This is the most frequently used cycle. It's ideal for cotton items and natural fabrics with polyester blends. The cycle time at 90°C is one and a half to two hours. Lowering the temperature will shorten the cycle time accordingly.
  • "Synthetics." This cycle is suitable for lightly soiled synthetic items. The water is heated to 40°C, and the machine runs for 60 minutes.
  • "Intensive." Another favorite among most users. Designed for washing moderately soiled laundry. Ideal for natural, blended, and synthetic fabrics. Cycle duration: 1 hour.
  • "Baby Clothes." A distinctive feature of this algorithm is a thorough rinse. This cycle runs for almost 2.5 hours. The water is heated to 60°C, and the wash is carried out with a large volume of liquid. The items are rinsed in the drum several times, ensuring that all detergent particles are completely removed from the fabric fibers.
  • "Hypoallergenic" is another mode that includes multiple rinse cycles. This algorithm is designed for washing clothes of allergy sufferers and those with sensitive skin. The water temperature is 60°C. The cycle lasts up to two hours.
  • "Quick 30." A short program that refreshes laundry. When selecting this function, ensure the drum is no more than half full. The cycle lasts 30 to 40 minutes, depending on the water temperature (30°C or 40°C) and the spin speed selected. This mode is the most economical, using minimal water and energy.
  • "Night Wash." This feature is designed for starting the washing machine in the evening. It's suitable for lightly soiled items. The drum rotates smoothly, ensuring virtually silent operation. The cycle duration is 45 minutes.
  • "Cotton Quick." Another universal algorithm, suitable for washing cotton clothes with medium soiling. The machine runs for 90 minutes when this mode is selected.
  • "Delicate Wash." This program is designed for delicate, sensitive fabrics such as satin, viscose, silk, and lace. The cycle lasts 60 minutes, with water heated to 40°C. Spinning is performed at the lowest speed.
  • "Wool." This program is designed for wool and acrylic garments. Spinning is not included in the program and cannot be enabled separately. This is necessary to prevent shrinkage or stretching of the fabric. Washing is done in water heated to 40°C and takes about an hour.
  • "Sportswear." A dedicated care option for innovative membrane fabrics used in sportswear. The water temperature is 60°C, and the cycle lasts 54 minutes.sportswear cycle
  • "Down Duvet." This function is designed for washing outerwear and bedding with synthetic and natural fillings. This algorithm is also suitable for jackets, pillows, and stroller mattresses. The water is heated to 40°C, preserving the properties of the inner filling. The cycle lasts one and a half hours.
  • "Dark Fabrics." An algorithm designed for the care of colored laundry. To preserve the garment's brightness, it is washed at 30 degrees.

It's important to understand the fabrics a particular mode is designed for, so you can preserve the appearance of your items for a long time while ensuring they wash well.

Some LG washing machine models feature a "My Program" option. Users can program their own algorithm into the intelligent system, customizing the spin speed, heating temperature, and number of rinses. The cycle duration will be customized.

The LG washing machine's cycle time varies depending on the washing mode. On average, a standard cycle lasts 1-1.5 hours. For convenience, a 30-minute cycle is also available.

Shouldn't sportswear be washed at 30 degrees? Well, I'm talking about the "Sportswear" cycle. 60 degrees for modern sportswear fabrics?

The most disgusting washing machine I've ever encountered, very inconvenient, with unrealistic programs and estimated wash times. Nothing is better than the Indesit.

I agree with you 100%, before LG I had an Indesit washing machine, with clear programs and washing times, I will never buy LG again and I don’t recommend it to others.
