Is it possible to use a built-in dishwasher without installing it?

Is it possible to use a built-in dishwasher without installing it?Sometimes, you've already purchased a built-in dishwasher, but don't yet have the right kitchen cabinets. Then, the question naturally arises: can you install such a dishwasher as a freestanding unit? Surely, there are ways to use the appliance even if there's no built-in space yet. We'll try to answer this question objectively.

Problems with using a non-built-in dishwasher

First of all, it's worth considering the problems associated with using a freestanding built-in dishwasher. Connection and startup are straightforward, as such a unit is designed exactly like a stand-alone unit. However, experts advise against using a dishwasher this way on a regular basis. Here's why.

  1. Firstly, it's simply not aesthetically pleasing. It seems like a minor detail. But all the unsightly internals that should be hidden behind the facade (for example, soundproofing material) will be on the outside, which will immediately give your kitchen an unsightly appearance.
  2. Opening the door of such a dishwasher without a front panel would be practically impossible, especially if it's equipped with a tight spring. After all, a built-in dishwasher is designed with a front panel and a door with a handle, and without them, it would take a lot of time to get used to.
  3. Excessive noise. Any dishwasher makes a fairly loud noise, but built-in dishwashers have much less soundproofing, as some of the sound will be absorbed by the cabinetry. Therefore, if you use a stand-alone dishwasher, be prepared for some noise while it's running.
  4. A dishwasher's centrifugal force isn't as powerful as a washing machine's, but it will still shake your appliance quite a bit. This isn't a serious problem, but it's still something to be prepared for.

It's best, of course, to be patient and wait for the kitchen cabinetry to have a built-in dishwasher. Then there won't be any worries or troubles, and everything will work as usual. But if you're really eager to test the unit, keep the aforementioned challenges in mind so you can use it correctly without a built-in dishwasher.

Temporary connection of a dishwasher

Now let's figure out how to install a built-in dishwasher separately from the furniture set.built-in PM

  1. First, connect the drain hose to the sewer. You can do this by connecting it to the sink drain, which in turn connects to the sewer pipe. It's important to create a bend near the connection point to prevent waste from becoming trapped in the hose. In a pinch, you can simply leave the drain hose in the sink.
  2. Make sure the drain hose is no longer than 1.5 meters. In extreme cases, 2 meters can be used.
  3. Now it's time to figure out the inlet hose. To install it, you first need to install a special hose tee. Remove the faucet hose from the water supply and install a brass or bronze adapter in its place. Now install the faucet on one branch, the filter on the second, and the dishwasher hose on the third.

Important! The final step is connecting to the power grid. Initially, you can use an adapter, but once the unit is installed, it must be connected to a moisture-resistant outlet connected to a circuit protected by a circuit breaker.

Now you know how to use your dishwasher without installing it, before your kitchen cabinets arrive. Try out your new appliance and break the habit of washing dishes by hand.
