Choosing an under-sink washing machine
For owners of small apartments, designers offer a practical solution: saving space by installing a washing machine under the sink. But it's not that simple: it's difficult to find a washing machine that fits an existing standard sink. You'll have to either replace the sink with a special "universal" one or look for a miniature washing machine. To choose the right washing machine for an under-sink or a dedicated sink, you need to keep a few things in mind. We'll reveal all the secrets in detail.
A sink for any machine
It might seem simpler to find a compact washing machine to fit an existing wall-mounted sink, but in reality, things are more complicated. Firstly, compact washing machines are non-standard and more expensive than full-size ones. Secondly, small units have a limited capacity, typically no more than 4 kg. Washing a blanket or jacket in such a drum would be problematic. Thirdly, small models require specialized and expensive repairs, which only service centers in the capital can provide. If your budget is limited and you want a more capacious machine, it’s better to choose a washbasin first.
The PAA Claro sink is the perfect choice. This versatile sink is ideal for built-in dryers or washing machines. Its main advantage is the side and rear siphon location, which significantly saves space and allows for easy installation of a standard washing machine. Also important is the sink's height of exactly 9 cm and depth of 6 cm, making it easy and comfortable to use.
A washing machine up to 50 cm deep will fit under the universal PAA Claro sink!
The remaining advantages of PAA Claro can be listed.
- Stylish design. This washbasin boasts a classic design and is suitable for most interiors, from home bathrooms to spas, hair salons, and other public spaces. It's no coincidence that Claro features in many designers' projects, as it blends seamlessly into any space.

- Interesting details. The sink's design is thoughtfully crafted down to the last detail. A striking example is the stone soap dish stand, which discreetly conceals the drain.
- Versatility. Most importantly, the PAA Claro fits virtually any narrow washing machine with a depth of no more than 50 cm.
- Affordable price. The new PAA Claro costs less than a miniature machine gun.
With a Claro, you can seamlessly integrate your washing machine, freeing up space for a bidet, water heater, cabinet, or laundry basket. Choosing a new appliance will also be easier, as there are many more slimline machines on the market than compact ones. Best of all, you won't have to settle for a small capacity or poor washing results—it's easy to get all the "free riders" at once.
Miniature under-sink appliances
If you can't afford a new sink, you'll have to look for the best compact washing machines. Miniature washing machines are less common than full-size, narrow models, but you'll still need to compare and evaluate dozens of models. A brief overview of the most popular and sought-after "non-standard" machines will help you make your choice.
- Candy Aquamatic 1D835-07. A compact model from a renowned brand. This washing machine doesn't have a removable lid for built-in installation, but its dimensions (70 cm high, 50 cm wide, and 46 cm deep) make it a perfect fit under a sink or in a vanity unit. Its maximum load capacity is 3.5 kg, and the spin cycle reaches 800 rpm. The basic program selection includes 16 programs, and the housing is also protected from leaks. Price: approximately $276.
- Zanussi FCS1020C. A miniature washing machine from Zanussi with built-in dimensions of 49.5 cm wide, 51.5 cm deep, and 67 cm high. Due to its compact size, the FCS1020C fits in any room, whether under a standard sink or in a kitchen unit. But there are two noticeable “buts”: firstly, no more than 3 kg of laundry is washed in one cycle, and secondly, the machine costs $523.

- Electrolux EWC 1350. The compact model from Electrolux is also pricey, costing at least $570. For this price, you get a maximum load capacity of 3 kg, 15 wash modes, mechanical controls, full leak protection, reduced energy consumption, and dimensions suitable for built-in installation. This washing machine is only 67 cm tall and 51.5 cm deep. The spin speed is also impressive, as the EWC 1350 can reach up to 1300 rpm. However, according to customer reviews, the machine vibrates excessively at this speed and "jumps."
- Eurosoba 1000. This Swiss brand offers a compact washing machine priced at $620. It washes up to 3 kg of dry laundry per cycle, while being protected against leaks, imbalances, and excessive foaming. It features a maximum spin speed of 1000 rpm, a moderate noise level, and a unique black finish. Its dimensions are perfect for under-sink placement: 46 cm wide and deep, and 68 cm high.
- The Eurosoba 1100 Sprint is an improved version of the Eurosoba 1000. Firstly, the maximum spin speed has been increased to 1100 rpm. Secondly, the energy efficiency class has been upgraded from "A" to "A+." Other specifications remain unchanged: a 3 kg capacity and a 46 cm depth. Price: $846.
The average cost of a mini washing machine ranges from $276 to $850.
An under-sink machine will save space and create a harmonious bathroom. All that's left to do is choose: a dedicated wall-mounted sink or a miniature appliance.
