How do I remove the detergent drawer from a Beko washing machine?

How to remove the detergent drawer from a Beko washing machineAny automatic washing machine requires careful handling and regular cleaning. It's essential to periodically rinse the inside of the machine, regularly wipe the drum surface and door, ventilate the machine, and rinse the detergent dispenser. Some people have trouble with the latter due to not knowing how to remove the detergent drawer on a Beko washing machine. Let's learn how to remove the drawer and then reinstall it correctly.

The principle of powder receptacle extraction

With reasonable care, removing the detergent drawer from a Beko automatic washing machine is easy, but there are still some nuances to consider. For example, simply pulling the drawer toward you will activate the safety system, causing the drawer to jam. In this situation, pulling the dispenser too hard can completely break the structure. Therefore, it's important to proceed correctly:

  • pull the container towards you until the tray stops;
  • Without releasing the dispenser, with your other hand press the “tongue” located above the middle section of the powder receptacle (the blue section for the conditioner);Press the tab in the middle
  • remove the tray from the hopper.

In some Beko models, the rinse aid section is located on the left, and therefore the “tongue” is also located there, above it.

Returning the container to the bin is even easier—simply insert it straight into the opening. The walls of the compartment are lined with special guides for the tray. Once you've installed the container once, you'll find it's a breeze. Now let's look at how to properly care for your "home helper." We'll discuss how often you should clean the detergent drawer and what to do if the dispenser is heavily clogged.

We clean the tray until it shines

As already mentioned, washing equipment requires timely maintenance. Ideally, you should wash the detergent drawer after each use of the washing machine. In this case, simply remove the tray and rinse it under running warm water. Any powder particles deposited on the walls will quickly be washed away by the pressure.

When a container isn't cleaned for several months, a film forms on its surface, and mold may develop in the compartments. In this case, more effort will be required to restore the drawer to its original appearance. There are several methods for dealing with heavily soiled drawers.

  • Prepare an abrasive sponge. In a cup, mix water and baking soda in a one-to-one ratio. Pour the resulting paste into the drawer. After a couple of hours, use a stiff sponge to scrub the detergent drawer, removing any mold and residue from the walls.
  • Fill the tray with baking soda, pour in 9% vinegar, and stir. This "cocktail" will help remove all deposits from the inside of the detergent drawer. How to clean a powder dispenser
  • Pour one liter of boiling water and 200 ml of 9% vinegar into the detergent dispenser container. Let the dispenser soak for at least six hours. Once the time is up, the dirt will loosen from the sides of the drawer and can be cleaned off with a regular cloth or sponge.
  • Another tried-and-true remedy is citric acid. Pour the citric acid powder into the dispenser, filling all three sections, and run a high-temperature wash (with the drum empty). The water temperature should be 60 degrees Celsius or higher. This will remove any mold or stains by the end of the cycle.

It is important to rinse the tray of any remaining powder after each wash and to “ventilate” it to remove excess moisture.

This is the only way to avoid the formation of mold and deposits on the walls of the container. After rinsing, either wipe the dispenser dry with napkins or insert it into the machine body only partially, allowing the water droplets to dry on their own.

The tray does not fit properly.

Sometimes, even when following all the instructions, the washing machine drawer can be difficult to remove. This could be due to the interfering teeth on the bottom of the drawers. This is a manufacturing defect that can be easily fixed at home. The powder receptacle does not fit properly.

If you've purchased a new machine and the first time removing the container was difficult, don't rush to push the drawer back in after cleaning. Otherwise, the second time you rinse the powder compartment, the same difficulties will occur. Experts recommend using sandpaper or a file to lightly file down the interfering teeth.

Simply filing off 1 mm of plastic is enough to allow the container to slide freely out of the recess and back in. After this procedure, removing the dispenser will no longer be difficult.

Thanks to this article, I didn't tear it out completely, but rather managed to gently remove the tray from my Beko WRS 5512 washing machine. For the first time. The warranty is still in effect for another eighteen months! But despite frequent, passionate use of this machine and hard water that coats everything with limescale, it turned out very clean. Pure white, so to speak, without any dark spots or colonies of dark-skinned ciliates or bacteria. And yet, in its short life, the tray has seen various types of detergents, gel, and descaling agents. Overall, a great tray!
