How to remove the detergent drawer from the LG washing machine?

Learning how to remove the powder drawer

While removing the detergent drawer isn't difficult with proper care, there are still a few things to keep in mind. First, if you simply pull the drawer toward you, the automatic safety system will activate and the dispenser will likely jam. Second, if you pull too hard afterward, you risk damaging something in your washing machine, so proceed as follows:

• First, do everything as you intended: pull the tray towards you until it stops;
• stop pulling, but don't let go of your grip;
• press the tab above the middle cell of the dispenser;

2. Pour a generous amount of baking soda directly into the container, then add the 9% acetic acid solution and mix thoroughly. A chemical reaction will occur between the ingredients, removing every trace of the dirt.
3. Another vinegar-based solution is a simple mixture of the same 9% acid and boiling water. Remove the tray, fill it with boiling water (1 liter), and add 200 grams of vinegar. Let it sit for at least 6 hours. After this, stubborn dirt will be easily removed with a regular sponge or washcloth.
4. Citric acid. To clean the litter box, simply warm it up and leave it in the dispenser for a while. Limescale and mold will easily dissolve and can be rinsed away with water.

Important! To prevent the drawer from becoming unhealthy, firstly, ensure that there's no detergent left in the dispenser after each wash and that all moisture has evaporated. To do this, either wipe the compartments dry with a napkin or cloth, or open the drawer and let it air out. This will reduce the mold problem.

Preventing litter tray contamination

In addition to the above methods for maintaining the washing machine in optimal condition, there are several others that also contribute to less intensive contamination of the powder receptacle:

• install a filter to purify the water entering the washing machine;
• buy proven cleaning products;
• Leave the hatch door and tray open for 20-30 minutes after each wash.
