Where do I add conditioner to an Indesit washing machine?
Many housewives like to add fabric softener to their laundry. It makes clothes very soft and imparts a delicate scent. To achieve maximum results, it's important to use the fabric softener correctly. Let's find out where to add fabric softener in an Indesit washing machine and which dispenser compartment is used for this purpose.
Do not mix conditioner and powder.
Some users don't realize that the detergent drawer has several compartments for a reason, and load all their detergents into one main compartment. Do not pour conditioner into the powder container, otherwise the conditioner will be washed out at the very beginning of the process and will not have any effect during rinsing.
There is a separate tray for the air conditioner, the location of which may vary depending on the washing machine model.
The dispenser for washing powder, fabric softener, and other detergents in top-loading Indesit machines is located under the top cover. Front-loading Indesit machines have a pull-out dispenser located in the upper left corner (on some models, on the right).
Rinse aid compartment
Don't mix laundry detergent with fabric softener. Choosing the fabric softener compartment by trial and error is also not recommended. Pouring it directly into the drum, on top of a pile of laundry, is pointless. It's crucial to find the designated compartment in the detergent drawer specifically for fabric softener. Finding the drawer isn't difficult; the key is to carefully inspect the dispenser.
The standard powder drawer is divided into three sections, so you only have three options to choose from. The largest compartment is designed for washing powder or liquid detergent for the main wash. A similar, smaller compartment is located next to it, used for pre-wash detergents.
The fabric softener compartment is marked with a distinctive symbol—the "Flower" icon. It's very difficult to confuse it with the other two compartments, as it's designed slightly differently. The compartment has a distinctive plastic insert with a hole. This is where you can safely pour the fabric softener.
The tray is marked with a distinctive "flower" symbol on both top-loading and front-loading Indesit machines. Therefore, you can find this familiar symbol on any model.
Don't forget the user manual
Generally, every washing machine comes with instructions that contain all the information the user might need. The manual also tells you which detergent to use in which compartment. If you've lost the instructions, you can try to find them online.
Usually, there are no difficulties in finding instructions for washing machines, since information about almost any model is available online.
It may be difficult to find a user manual for very old washing machines. In this case, you can contact the manufacturer via the feedback form on the website. However, this is usually not necessary, as it's quite easy to find the correct section of the detergent drawer yourself. However, it's still a good idea to read the manual, as it contains a lot of useful information regarding the proper operation of the machine.
Take care of the powder dispenser
It is very important to periodically wash the powder container, which contains detergent particles after each wash. Over time, if not properly maintained, a deposit will form on the surface of the detergent drawer, which will negatively affect the quality of the wash. Firstly, water stops flowing through the dispenser normally, and secondly, fungus and mold may appear on the walls and in the depths.
You don't necessarily have to clean the litter box with household chemicals. There are many ways to clean the powder compartment using home remedies and inexpensive solutions.
Citric acid. Pour it into all sections of the detergent drawer, then start the wash cycle with the drum empty.
Baking soda. Pour vinegar into the tray, then sprinkle the area with baking soda. Wait about 20 minutes for the reaction to subside, then scrub the powder container with a brush.
Bleach. Dilute with water and soak the tray in this solution. This will remove yellowing from the tray's surface.
You can remove plaque in a very simple way: remove the powder receptacle and wash it in a soapy solution, going over the surface with a brush with stiff bristles.
To prevent scale buildup, it's also recommended to rinse and dry the dispenser after each wash. This will prevent mold and mildew from developing. In fact, it's a good idea to periodically clean not only the detergent drawer but the entire system to minimize the risk of scale buildup on your washing machine's components.
