Where do I pour liquid detergent into a Bosch washing machine?
Many housewives use liquid laundry detergent (or gel) incorrectly: pouring it in with fabric softener or into the powder compartment. Since this is an incorrect approach and reduces washing quality, it's important to understand this issue. Let's use a Bosch washing machine as an example, describing the purpose of each compartment in the detergent drawer.
Section with Roman I
Let's figure out where to pour liquid detergent. For convenience, each compartment in the Bosch washing machine's powder drawer is labeled. For example, the compartment marked with the Roman numeral "1" is usually designated for pre-wash or pre-soak. This compartment is not used very often, as not all items require a long, thorough wash or even a pre-soak. The first tray is filled only when the corresponding special program is selected, and not when a normal wash is selected.
If you decide to pour the gel into the Roman numeral compartment, make sure the following conditions are met:
the program with pre-wash will be started;
The back of the compartment is protected by a partition that will prevent the gel from spilling out prematurely;
In the middle of the wash (main cycle), another portion of gel will be poured into the second compartment.
If there is no divider in the tray, liquid laundry detergent should be poured into the drum before loading the laundry.
If your Bosch washing machine comes with a special plastic capsule for dispensing liquid detergents, shaped like a ball or a cup with holes, you should pour the gel into it. This device is placed inside the dirty laundry. As the machine spins and the drum rotates, the liquid detergent is gradually released, evenly lathering the laundry.
Section with Roman numeral II
The second compartment in the washing machine drawer is used for regular washing. This compartment should be filled with regular washing powder or liquid laundry detergent. Liquid detergent can only be added if a divider is present. If your Bosch washing machine doesn't have one, you can purchase one separately. Otherwise, pour the detergent into the drum before loading the laundry.
Do not pour liquid detergent directly onto the laundry, as undiluted gel may have too strong an effect on the fabric, bleaching it. This will leave whitish stains on the garment.
Another option for adding liquid detergent is to place it directly into the machine's drum inside a special liquid detergent dispenser. This dispenser is designed to properly distribute gels during the wash cycle.
The "blue" section
The small, bluish compartment with a flower design is for fabric softener, so don't add any laundry detergent to it. Otherwise, during the rinse cycle (which is when the machine accesses this compartment), a portion of the gel will be released into the laundry, some of which will remain in the fibers. This is fraught with not only an excessively intense odor that will come from the washed clothes, but also a skin allergy caused by the concentrated chemical.
As for conditioner, don't add it in large quantities. To monitor the conditioner dosage, there's a mark on the wall of the compartment indicating the maximum fill level. However, it's important to ignore the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging for liquid powder or conditioner: they often recommend using too much. In this case, the company is likely trying to ensure that the user runs out of the gel or other product quickly, prompting the need to buy more.
