How to Replace a Samsung Washing Machine Drain Hose

What should you do if your drain hose urgently needs replacing? Call a technician or try to fix the problem yourself? The truth is, there's nothing complicated about the procedure. The Samsung washing machine manual describes it in detail.

If you discover even a small defect in your drain hose, you should replace it as soon as possible. A small crack can lead to a rupture after just a couple of cycles, resulting in flooding of your apartment and the neighbors below. It's better to avoid risks and install a new hose immediately. You can purchase a new drain hose at your local plumbing store, based on the model of your Samsung washing machine.

Before starting work, study the drain hose connection diagram. One end of the hose is connected to the sewer pipe or siphon, the other is screwed to the snail outlet. To disconnect the corrugated pipe from the pump, you will have to look under the Samsung washing machine.

Regarding the external connection, the Samsung washing machine's drain hose is connected either to the sewer pipe through a special tee or to a free nipple on the trap. Since the washing machine has already been installed, check where exactly the other end of the corrugated hose will be attached.

Before you begin replacing the drain hose, it is important to remember:

This will allow free access to the drain hose connection. Next, you need to:

Before attaching the new drain hose, clean any accumulated dirt from the pump housing. Connecting the hose is done in a similar manner:

• pull the corrugated pipe onto the snail pipe;
• Securely fasten the hose with clamps (it is important not to overtighten the clamps to avoid damaging the base of the hose).

Next, connect the AquaStop sensor wiring and replace the drain pan. The Samsung washing machine is now returned to its upright position. The other end of the new corrugated hose is connected to the pipe or fitting on the siphon. The drain hose should be free of kinks after installation.

Now you need to run a test wash. This will ensure the connection is correct and there are no leaks. Simply select the shortest cycle, such as "Rinse."

Even the slightest leak will require reconnecting the hose. The clamps may not be tight enough, or the corrugated hose may not be seated properly. If everything is dry, you can use the washing machine as usual.

Why is it so important to replace a damaged drain hose promptly? Tens of liters of wastewater flow through it with each wash cycle. Therefore, the drain hose must always be in perfect condition to handle the load.

If you notice cracks starting to appear on the tube, don't delay replacing it. Install a new corrugated tube immediately.
