How to change the drain hose on an Ardo washing machine?

If your drain hose is leaking, duct tape or glue alone won't fix the problem. The same can be said for severe clogs. Replacing the drain hose will also be necessary if it's the wrong size. But this isn't as simple as it seems. You need to choose the right new hose and determine the cause of the old one's failure.

How to replace an old hose with a new one?

Ardo washing machines don't have a bottom panel. So, replacing the hose isn't difficult. Gather your tools: pliers, screwdrivers, and rags to remove excess water. Let's begin the repair.

Important! Beforehand, disconnect the unit from all power lines, including electricity, water, and sewer.

Using the emergency drain, remove any remaining water. Move the machine a couple of meters away, ensuring access from all sides, and cover the area around it with rags. Then tilt the Ardo washing machine backwards to expose the bottom. If this is inconvenient, turn it onto its right side.

• We look for the connection point between the hose and the pump (on the snail fitting near the pump).
• Carefully loosen the clamp that holds the corrugated pipe; disconnect its other end, located on the body.
• We remove the old hose and insert a new one.
• After screwing the part onto the fitting, tighten the clamp, and then connect the hose to the body.
• We check the reliability of all connections.

Now put the machine back in place. After the repairs, run a short wash cycle. Monitor the hose while draining. If water appears at the joints, stop the machine and re-tighten the fasteners.

Why buy a new sleeve?

The drain hose bears a tremendous load during the operating cycle—it carries all waste liquid into the sewer. Therefore, this part is usually made of polypropylene, which can withstand not only temperature fluctuations but also harsh detergents. However, despite the high quality of the material, the sleeve often wears out quickly due to external and internal mechanical influences, and is also subject to frequent clogging. In what situations does the drain hose need to be replaced?

1. Damage to the corrugated hose. Frequent kinks cause kinks, which eventually develop into cracks. The hose's seal is compromised, and it eventually breaks.
2. Inappropriate size. Due to the specific bathroom environment, the part included with the appliance may not be the correct length. Assembling a hose from multiple parts is highly undesirable. The best option is to replace the drain hose with a new, longer piece.
3. Clogging. This often occurs due to user carelessness—dirt and foreign objects are left in clothing pockets. Sometimes a thick layer of scale forms on the inner surface of the corrugated pipe.

In private homes, consumers encounter the problem of rats and mice chewing through the sleeves. In this case, we recommend taking action after renovations. For example, place a special poison on the floor behind the Ardo washing machine, near the wall.

Selecting a new part

To purchase a spare part, take the old hose with you. It's best to go to specialized stores that sell parts for Ardo equipment. You need to determine the length: to do this, measure the distance between the sewer inlet and the pump. You should also determine the type of corrugated hose:

• coiled - disassembled, consists of elements 50-55 cm long;
• classic polypropylene, sizes from one to several meters;
• Telescopic, can be stretched three times, looks like a compressed corrugated pipe.

The cost of a new corrugated hose is currently low, so experimenting with sealants, glue, and electrical tape is pointless. Moreover, the need for such replacement is rare. Therefore, we recommend not repairing the old hose, but installing a new one immediately.
