Spare parts for Bosch dishwashers

dishwasher spare partsHow complex is a modern Bosch dishwasher? Some people assume it's not very complex. In fact, a large number of different parts can be recovered from a regular, faulty dishwasher. These parts can be very useful for repairing your "home helpers," which can still be restored to working order. We've decided to dedicate today's article to Bosch dishwasher parts. We'll try to at least briefly describe them all.

Main building

The main body of a Bosch dishwasher consists of 95% of the wash chamber, which contains a significant number of parts. The remaining 5% is made up of external components, which we'll also try to cover. So, what parts can you find inside the wash chamber?

  1. A water supply tube with a turbine. This is the base on which the sprinklers are mounted. This tube delivers pressurized water from the circulation unit to the sprinkler.
  2. Sprayers and sprinklers. These elements may look different, but they all serve the same function: spraying water in fine streams onto dirty dishes.

Sprayers are used for washing baking sheets and large dishes, while rotating sprayers are suitable for all other dishes.

  1. The drip tray cover, filter mesh, and coarse and fine filters are located at the bottom of the washing chamber and prevent large food particles from entering the machine's system.
  2. Cutlery shelves and glass holders. The purpose of these elements is well known to any user and requires no description.
  3. Dish baskets. Bosch dishwashers have upper and lower baskets. The lower basket is more spacious and designed for larger dishes. The upper basket is used for smaller items.
  4. Basket casters. This essential accessory allows baskets to move freely along their tracks.

main body parts

The wash chamber itself is welded from high-quality stainless steel. The chamber entrance is lined with a U-shaped rubber seal, which helps seal the chamber while the machine is in operation. Directly above the entrance, on the chamber lid, is a mechanical door lock and a child-proof locking device. Spare parts contained in the main body are the easiest to buy, but they also fail more often.

PMM door

Even a simple element like the Bosch dishwasher door contains a number of parts that require attention.

  • First, there's the door frame itself, which is made of high-quality stainless steel. Replacement of the door frame is extremely rare, unless it has been severely deformed as a result of the dishwasher being dropped. This component is very difficult to find in parts catalogs.
  • Second, there's a door sensor that detects whether the door is open or closed. This sensor helps the control module communicate with the door.
  • Thirdly, the door handle helps the user to conveniently open and close the dishwasher.
  • Fourth, the bottom seal, which prevents water from leaking under the door from below.
  • And finally, fifthly, the dishwasher dispenser, which has special compartments for powder, rinse aid and dishwashing tablets.

Control module

The electronic brain of a Bosch dishwasher is the control module. It consists of several components, but the most important is the control board. This ensures the operation of all systems. Unauthorized repair or replacement of the control board is highly discouraged. In addition to the control board, the control module has a pushbutton or touch panel, which also houses the display. The panel helps the user configure the dishwasher, selecting various programs and washing modes.

A separate power button is located on the control panel. For safety reasons, it is housed in a separate, hidden enclosure and powered bypassing the control board, although this is not always the case.

Pallet details

Any service technician will tell you that the lion's share of spare parts are located in the bottom of a Bosch dishwasher, in the drain pan. The drain pan is hidden from the user's view, but it's where all the important work happens during operation:

  • pumping water from the water supply system;
  • water heating;
  • preparation of a mixture of detergents;
  • preparing a solution for rinsing dishes;
  • draining waste water.

pallet parts

The drip tray contains a compact collection of various components connected by pipes and wire bundles. Let's describe them. Let's start with one of the tray's main components—the heat exchanger. It consists of a cover, plastic plugs, pipes, a water flow sensor, and a special drain valve. The next component is called the ion exchanger. It consists of the following parts:

  • lids;
  • housings;
  • sealing nut and seals;
  • water transparency sensor;
  • softened water supply valve.

The ion exchanger in a dishwasher is actually needed to soften hard water and prevent limescale deposits from forming on the machine's parts. To make it last longer, you should always make sure there is dishwasher salt in the special reservoir.

The next component is called the water flow distributor. In addition to the distributor itself, this component includes sealing rubbers and a special motor that helps create pressure and direct water further into the system. The final component of the tray is called the recirculation unit. It includes the volute, aqua sensor, clamps and seals, pump, cuff, heating element with recirculation pump assembly, and an NTS sensor.

Disassembling the tray is considered the most difficult stage in dishwasher repair, so if you need to replace any part located there, it is best to contact a professional.

External elements

Every user encounters the external components of a Bosch dishwasher regularly, but even if they don't, they're at least visible. German manufacturers focus on mass production of these parts because they are in steady demand. Let's list them and briefly describe them.

  1. Inlet and drain hoses. The purpose of these parts is clear to everyone. Users often purchase adapters for these hoses to extend their length if needed.
  2. Feet. Bosch dishwashers have adjustable feet, allowing you to precisely level the dishwasher body relative to the kitchen floor.
  3. A float with a microswitch. These are protective elements of the Aquastop system housing. These components can cause many problems for the user. Not only does the microswitch fail quite often, but it also tends to stick together with the float. This causes Bosch dishwasher error E23.
  4. Power cable. This is needed to supply power to the machine.
  5. Power board. The network cable is connected to it. It distributes power to the dishwasher modules.
  6. A soft-opening door system. It consists of a spring, a cable, and a special latch. This system prevents the door from falling when opening and slamming sharply when closing.
  7. Door hinges and cabinet brackets. Their purpose is clear to everyone.
  8. Decorative hinge covers. These are plastic elements that cover metal door hinges to create a more aesthetically pleasing appearance.
  9. Soundproofing pad. These are several sheets of soundproofing material that completely cover the metal wash chamber.

Well, that's it. We've briefly listed and described the parts of a typical Bosch dishwasher. Now I'd like to say a few words about the installation and removal of these parts.

Recommendations for replacing parts

Quite often, some users, having discovered that the dishwasher door lock does not work, try to replace it. Fortunately,dishwasher lock repair It's not a difficult task, but it still requires time and money. Some might be surprised, but in about 30% of cases, the lock can be repaired in literally five seconds. The problem is that modern Boshek locks have a special, sensitive latch. Just one hard slam of the door causes this latch to jam, preventing the door from closing again. How can this problem be solved?

Simply take a screwdriver, locate the tab, and apply gentle pressure. Once pressed, the tab will pop out, and the lock will function properly until the latch engages again.

power boardOther novice craftsmen, in order to repair a dishwasher that constantly drains water, decide to check and replace the inlet valve, almost completely disassembling the dishwasher to do so. A lot of wasted effort, when the problem could be solved much more easily. By removing the soundproofing and laying the dishwasher on its right side, the inlet valve can be accessed through a gap. It can also be disconnected, checked, and replaced through the gap. This is a bit inconvenient, but it saves a lot of time by not having to disassemble the entire appliance.

Sometimes users find thatBosch dishwasher won't turn onNaturally, your hands immediately start itching to find out what exactly is broken. They check the power cord, the outlet, disassemble the control panel, and remove the on/off button. In fact, the most common cause of burnout in Bosch dishwashers is the power boards. It's unclear why they're so sensitive, but the fact remains that an experienced technician always starts with this board.

Most likely, the power boards in Bosch dishwashers are designed for stable European power grids, which are very different from the power grids in the Russian hinterland.

The power board is hidden in a housing, and this housing is hidden deep within the dishwasher's tray. You'll need to remove the tray, extract the board, test it with a multimeter, and replace it if a problem is detected. We do not recommend soldering the board yourself, as using a home-made resoldered power board is dangerous to life and health.

That's probably enough for today's discussion of spare parts, along with recommendations for checking and replacing them. Of course, it's impossible to cover everything in one article, as we're touching on dishwasher repair in general, and that's the topic for a whole series of publications, which have either already appeared or will soon appear on our website. Stay tuned for future articles. Good luck!
