Today, automatic washing machines have become such a common household appliance that no one should have any questions about their operation. However, not every housewife is proficient in operating every brand of "home helper." Therefore, it's understandable that not everyone knows where to pour the detergent in a Haier washing machine. After all, this initial step directly impacts both savings on household chemicals and the quality of your wash. Let's take a closer look at this important point.
We find the compartment for powder
If the user has never worked with a Haier brand washing machine, problems may begin already at the stage of searching for a powder compartment. The fact is that the tray in this company's equipment is slightly different from similar compartments in other devices. To find the compartment, you need to:
stand facing the washing machine control panel;
find the household chemicals drawer to the left of the panel;
pull it out until it stops;
Depending on the model, the compartment configuration may be the same as in equipment from other brands.
Please note that the compartment where you need to pour the conditioner is located exactly in the middle, the pre-wash compartment is located on the right, and the space for the main working cycle is allocated on the left.
In rare cases, the detergent drawer in Haier machines may look completely different, with a large oval compartment in the center. In this case, the oval compartment is designated for the main wash cycle, so the detergent should be poured into it, not into the compartment on the left. This detergent drawer configuration suggests that the pre-wash compartment is located to the right of the oval center, and the fabric softener compartment is located to the left.
It's also worth noting the unusual powder drawer in the HW80B-14686 and other models in the series, where the drawer features four compartments instead of three. Powder should be poured into the large, rear compartment, which is typically made of plain white plastic. The round, blue plastic central compartment is for bleach, which should be added when activating the cotton and synthetic cycles. The remaining two compartments at the front of the powder drawer are for fabric softener (on the right) and liquid detergent (on the left).
Finally, let's look at the most basic detergent drawers, which are slightly less common than all the options described previously. These drawers have only two compartments. The large one on the left holds the detergent, while the colored one on the right holds the fabric softener.
Can I put powder in the drum?
Experts rarely agree when this issue is raised, but most often they agree with home appliance manufacturers. Company representatives believe that washing powder should never be poured directly into the drum, as it is necessary to use a detergent dispenser. What are the arguments?
If you pour washing powder directly into the drum before washing black or dark items, the household chemicals will dissolve directly on the items, causing white spots to appear on them.
If you pour detergent underneath your laundry rather than directly on it, most of the detergent will end up in the drain when the program starts, along with the water that the pump will pump out of the drum. This is because some water always remains in the drum after washing, and this water needs to be removed before starting the next cycle.
Most cycles are designed to release detergent from the dispenser in small portions at different stages of the wash cycle, rather than all at once. Therefore, these cycles won't utilize their full potential if you add the detergent to the drum, where it will dissolve all at once.
Of course, there are also downsides to using standard detergent dispensers. One is the potential for some detergent to remain in the dispenser after a cycle due to poorly designed dispensers. This issue is mostly found in older "home helpers."
To solve this problem, simply purchase a special plastic container for detergent that fits directly into the drum of your washing machine. It's often included with your washing machine, but even if it wasn't included, don't worry. These containers can be easily found for a few dollars, so it's definitely not worth skimping on. Moreover, you can use special laundry balls with it to improve the efficiency of your washing machine even more.
