Symbols on a Beko washing machine

Symbols on a Beko washing machineAfter purchasing a Beko washing machine, many people immediately start washing clothes without even understanding the program symbols. However, these symbols are crucial, as they help you set the correct operating mode and avoid damaging your clothes. While you can try trial and error, it's best to familiarize yourself with the symbols on your Beko washing machine beforehand. We'll explain what they mean.

Drawings of programs

Modern washing machines have a simplified symbolic designation of available operating modes. They are located directly on the washing machine's dashboard. The symbols are fairly simple and often familiar to users of other washing machines, as they are very similar. However, if you previously had an older model, especially from a different manufacturer, you may encounter some difficulties.

Important! For the meaning of the symbols on the Beko machine's dashboard, please refer to the instructions included with the machine.

Old-style washing machines have several dozen unique symbols. These symbols are also found on some modern models, but the symbolism is typically different. First, divide the existing icons into two groups: primary and secondary. The primary programs are represented on the symbols as follows.

  • Prewash Cotton 90O This involves pre-soaking. First, the laundry is kept at a low temperature. This cycle is quite energy- and time-consuming, lasting 1 hour and 58 minutes.
  • Cotton 90OThis program simulates boiling for natural fabrics. The wash cycle lasts 1 hour and 50 minutes.
  • Cotton 60O Designed for heavily soiled bed linen and clothing made from natural fabrics. Duration: 1 hour 35 minutes.
  • Cotton 40O Allows you to wash lightly soiled natural fabrics. The program lasts 1 hour and 25 minutes.
  • Intensive wash 60O For heavily soiled areas. The wash lasts longer (2 hours 40 minutes) due to the soaking and re-rinsing process.
  • Children's underwear 65O The wash cycle takes 2 hours and 10 minutes. This long wash cycle is achieved by rinsing.
  • Short program 30O Used for quick washing of lightly soiled items. It's the perfect choice when you need to refresh your clothes.
  • Delicate wash 40O This cycle is designed for washing delicate fabrics. It lasts 1 hour and 10 minutes.
  • Delicate wash 30O similar to the one above, but the duration is slightly shorter – 1 hour 5 minutes;
  • Hand wash 30O Allows you to wash delicate fabrics. Gentle washing is achieved through gentle drum movements and low temperatures. The program lasts 40 minutes.Drawings of programs
  • A no-heat wool wash takes 45 minutes. The drum rotates slowly, and the spin cycle is gentle.
  • Wool wash 40O – essentially the same program with a slightly higher temperature and a duration of 55 minutes.
  • Mix 40 ProgramO allows you to avoid separating laundry when washing.
  • Synthetics 30O intended for synthetic and combined fabrics.
  • Synthetics 40O It's also suitable for washing items made from synthetic fibers. The program lasts 1 hour and 45 minutes.
  • Synthetics 60O – the same mode, but with a higher temperature and duration, 1 hour 55 minutes.
  • Prewash synthetics 60O It takes longer, 2 hours and 5 minutes. This is due to additional soaking.

Important! When choosing a washing mode, be sure to consider the type of laundry you are loading into the machine.

This is essential to keep in mind, otherwise you can easily ruin your clothes. Also, don't neglect sorting your clothes before loading them into the drum. These simple recommendations will help preserve the color and appearance of your laundry for as long as possible.

Auxiliary modes

In addition to the main washing modes, there are also auxiliary modes. These consist of only one step and help achieve better results. Other symbols will help you understand what process is currently running. Let's look at the main symbols used in the Beko washing machine.

  • Canceling the mode will help you to abandon an incorrectly set program.
  • Delay start allows you to delay the wash cycle for a specific amount of time. For example, you can delay the start by 3, 6, or 9 hours.
  • Start/Pause/Stop are used to start, pause and finish a process.
  • Short wash cycle for quick results.
  • Wrinkle-free spinning allows you to gently spin out your laundry.
  • The door opening button is an indicator that allows you to understand whether the washing machine door is locked or not.
  • Washing – this symbol on the panel shows that the machine is currently washing.
  • The Extra Rinse and Rinse cycles remove any remaining detergent. The program lasts approximately 20 minutes.
  • Spinning takes 11 minutes. Choosing this function correctly will help preserve the appearance of your clothes and make ironing easier.
  • The drain will help get rid of excess water if a malfunction occurs.

By matching the symbols on the display or front panel, you can determine the current status of your washing machine. Some Beko washing machines feature a special indicator located on the plastic panel. You can find it when you open the detergent dispenser drawer.
