Spin symbol on a washing machine
Spinning is the final stage of the wash cycle in most automatic washing machines. Many users don't think twice about selecting this function, as it's built into almost every wash program. Therefore, not everyone pays attention to what the spin icon looks like. And when you need to spin your laundry separately, you start wondering how to activate this function. It's quite simple; see for yourself.
What does this icon look like?
The spin symbol on all washing machines looks the same. It's a twisted spiral, reminiscent of a snail. The symbol may differ only in the number of turns, but that's not important.

The spin function in washing machines is separate, allowing only spinning of laundry. Sometimes, spinning is combined with rinsing. Spin speed depends on the specific model of the washing machine and can vary from 400 to 1800 rpm. The higher the drum speed, the drier the laundry will be.
Don't chase the spin speed; in most cases, spinning laundry at too high a speed can damage the fabric. 1000–1200 rpm is the optimal spin speed, which most people use and are satisfied with the results.
How to use a wringer
This mode is easy to use. Anyone can master it. This is probably the basics of operating an automatic washing machine.
- Place the wet laundry in the drum, taking into account its volume. You should not put too little laundry in the machine, just as you should not overload it, since in both cases the washing machine will display an error and stop the program.
- We close the hatch door.
- Turn the toggle switch to the “Spin” mode.
- By pressing the spin speed selection button on the control panel, we set the required number of revolutions.
- Press the start button.
You can also change the spin speed for the wash program. In some cases, the program may prohibit high-speed spinning, limiting the selection to low speeds.
What to do if the item cannot be wrung out?
In some situations, the spin cycle needs to be turned off. You can determine whether the item needs to be spun by looking at clothing label. Such a label or tag, in addition to other useful signs, may contain the designation “no wringing” or “no twisting”. These symbols are typically found on delicate clothing. If you see these symbols, do not machine-wash (or centrifuge) or wring the item.

In this case, washing machines have a spin-off function. To do this, press the spin speed selection button and select "no spin." On some machines, this function is indicated by a crossed-out spiral, as shown in the images below.

Please note! By disabling the spin cycle, you only disable the final spin cycle. The spin cycle between wash cycles will remain active, as it's built into the program and cannot be disabled. However, please note that this spin cycle is performed at a lower speed.
As you can see, the spin symbol on a washing machine is one of the most intuitive. It's universal for all washing machines, but anyone with an automatic washing machine should know the nuances of its use. Now you know how to use this function correctly. Good luck!

Thanks! This was helpful, I was wondering if I could wring out clothes or not.
But there is no water flowing into the machine, and the signs are still on.
Super! Thank you))
The Siberia's high-speed spin cycle was 2700 rpm. Modern machines boast 1200/1600 rpm. Modern technology simply can't keep up.
She makes noise but does nothing.
If there is no spin icon, how do you dry the laundry?
They didn't put enough linen
Thank you, everything is clear ❤️
The machine washed without spinning, I forgot to turn it on. The cycle is finished. How do I spin it now?
